I don't care how good your intentions were. You corrupt my perfect memory of my adolescent dream girl by comparing her to a spoiled brat idiot skank... Grrrr....

Times were different then... more innocent.... if Linda had done the snake dance from the VMA's, about 15 million young men's heads would have exploded. And I'm talking the kind on top of your shoulders.

Her and Nancy Wilson of Heart. Linda though, oh my, I'm feeling faint. Her face was only half as sweet as her voice. I feel the need to find Mr. Peabody and use his way-back machine.
Two differences between spears & Linda: Linda had talent and she was not a ****. So sorry Ken, but I think you have just forfeited any remaining Octane points you may have been hoarding. Perhaps next time you will show the proper respect when speaking of a queen, nay a goddess of R&R.

see, wats with guys like yourself that keep taking everything the
negative way? why? how? did you get beat up by your friends in
your younger years?

"proper respect?" wtf, britney for wat she's worth is (was?) the queen
of pop a few years ago..and still manages to pull off making over $700K/mn.
just goofing off turning her life up-side-down. :impatient

so one compared the popularity of a pop 'godess' of today with someone
from the past...i don't see any disrespect here. on the contrary,
one should(?) be happy in that respect?.

Kinda like comparing Jesus Christ and Jim Carrey. Both have the initials JC. And both had crowds follow them around wherever they went. And Jim's MUCH richer and at his peak was MUCH more popular. So Jesus should be proud of the comparison.

I know, I know... bad, over-the-top example...

Over the top, but yet very poetic.

And with a considerable degree of truth, too.

Backpedaling and rationalizations won't save kenchan from this faux pas.
It's like comparing the Backstreet Boys to the Beatles, yeah they were both in the music business but only one of the two bands actually made music.
Comparing Linda to some hack tabloid tart ... the nerve!
I'm writing a letter to Linda about this and she's going to kick ken's butt. Unfortunately as Paul pointed out, time has been less than kind to Ms. Ronstadt so all she really will need to do is sit on him.

lol you guys are being disrespectful from the other side of view,
but since you are all so selfish you can't see from other's point of view.
i made a slight comment brushing the popularity.

now how the hell do you think you guys are going to ever get better
at detailing if you have such one sided and stubborn view?

it's quite sad! so stop it!

Show me a thread that stays strictly on-target and I'll show you a thread that is either:

A. Intensely interesting.

B. Exceedingly boring.

And either one is rare.

well, it is still on topic to detailing cause we would rather be detailing
but due to weather we have nothing much better to do than to talk
about other things.

Add the water restriction that Blimey and I are under to the winter weather and it's been about 2 weeks since my last detail.

I was trying to think of a better example of the 70's verison of Spears but I'm kind of stumped as the bimbos were of a higher quality then.

As for Linda-I also enjoyed her standards album with the Nelson Riddle orchestra-especially her version of "Lover Man".

Well Debra Harry was kind of a bimbo (she always looked as if she just pulled an all nighter with the band wink, wink), though she could really sing. Perhaps she was more of an 80's girl.
So for the 70's and rock girls I guess the same could be said of Stevie Nicks as what I said about Blondie. Again she had some talent though. So no hack, tart comes to mind from the 70's for me.
I really hope to at least be able to rinse the MINI off this weekend. It isn't to bad to wash as long as the temp is above freezing.

Yes it was, and what better way to pass the time than to just yak about things. Sort of like we were all together detailing our cars, surely not everything we said would be BW, BG, RO/PC, Megs, DP, AIO, Hydro

I have Seasonal Affective Disorder - lack of daylight (as well as lack of water as MDK says) are making me feel, um, out of character.

I'm doing the quasi-ghetto-wash on Blimey using rainwater from my rain barrel in a bucket for the wash and a sprayer for the wet / rinse - it's making me punchy, and it's making Blimey swirly - that, and QDing when I should be washing... and swirls are making me angry... I used to not care about stuff like this - damn you guys (and gals if Mel or Heather are reading)...

And I'm on the road this week, so parking at hotels. Finding nice safe end spots. Or so I thought. Then I came out yesterday and the sprinklers had run over night (yes, it's winter and yes, we're in a drought, and yes, the nimrods had the sprinklers running anyway) and left water spots ALL OVER my car... GRRRRRRRR

QD'd them right away and got the visible stuff off, but at an angle I can still see stuff dried on there. Gonna have to clay to get it off. But I'm not ready to clay / polish / wax yet because winter JUST STARTED... Grrrr

Hydro is like the Britney of detailing products.

Take that, ken.

Snow? Current weather reports for tomorrow afternoon are reporting ICE my good man up to 1" in some areas north of the freeze line. I could park outside, let the car ice over then use the pristine water afterwards.

We may get some minor icing here in STL tomorrow morning, but it looks like it will be mostly rain for the weekend. Both the MINIs are a little dirty, but I'm going to hold off till next week to wash them, should be in the 40s then.

I think Blimey meant that Britney needs Hydro to hide all of her swirls.

OUCH! LOL!

im sorry to hear that you have to park at hotels, etc. you might be
able to get a room facing the parking lot. when i drove my
hobby car from LA to chicago, i always asked for a room right next
to the lot so that I could keep an eye on the car.
