I really like the idea of a car cover. I can on occasion park inside the condo complex but it's all under big trees, I don't like to because I get very annoyed cleaning sap and bird droplets off my car. With a car cover I will not have a problem parking under trees in the safety of the complex on days where people are out being stupid.

people throw eggs, smash shopping carts into cars, ding doors,
smash bumpers and leave the scene, key paint, etc. etc. so i
think a car cover will at least have benefits keeping the natural
'disasters' off.

but my cars that are parked outside do not get one. too much
of a hassle to cover without adding extra swirls (more work to polish
later), too much of a hassle in the morning to remove it while wet,
folding it can get pretty messy especially when you got some nice
cloths on to go to the office.

i might be the only one here, but when i started my car hobby the
first thing i looked for was an apartment with (minimum) a parking garage,
then next step move to a house with a garage. you guys go out
buying your love cars first and then finding out why i even have a
garage and daily driver...

My astro black mini was egged last night and so were some other cars on my block. I wish i could catch the guys. That was the first night my car was parked outside. My garage is being redone with epoxy floors so i couldnt park inside it. The only punishment befitting this awful crime is castration. To quote Vincent Vega in Pulp Fiction. "You Don't #@% with another man's automobile"

To really enforce that illusion, put a US Marine Corps AND NRA bumper sticker on the rear window. That'll make them think twice!

Nice quote. However, as for punishment, watch the horrible attempted movie "On deadly ground." (Steven Seagal's movies are all pretty crappy but this was his absolute worst.) There's a horrible scene where some thugs are trying to interrogate Seagal's buddy about where some money is. They took a large ivory tusk and used it like a hammer. They forced him to hold his fingers out and smashed each one in! The guy is a VERY good actor. I almost believed his fingers were being pulverized! It was so sickening that I couldn't watch the entire scene. That's what they should do to the egg tossers!

I heard on a local news station a few years back about the cops catching one guy cracking people's windows to build up business for his windshield crack repair service!
