Can anyone recommend any detailing products, specifically wax/polish, that I can buy in the store?
Tar & feater me if you will, but I want to take care of my car without taking it to "that level" and buying stuff online... no offense to those of you that do, did the zaino thing before and would like to keep it simple this time.
Regards,
Brian

i suggest you get Prima Hydro. it's not hard to place an order
online to DP... plus, saves you the trip to the store.
dont waste your money on mediocre products. the only thing i
would buy at the store is tire dressing foam (Vroom at Target)
and Meguiar's tire dressing in a spray bottle (InsaneShine).

Just get Hydro and a waffle weave towel. you'll thank me later.

Kenchan is correct, you will get much better products from DP. Hydro is great and well worth the cost and little wait.
However, Megs NXT is a good product if you are only willing to buy at local retail.

I actually was (and am) a fan of ICE. It's super easy (safe for trim - actually makes the trim look GOOD) and gives good results. Probably doesn't last very long - but it's SOOOOO easy that you can use it monthly without much effort.
HOWEVER - once I tried Prima Epic, I'll never use ICE again... Epic is that good. And also easy - though you need to clean it off the trim... Hydro is even easier than ICE, and probably provides more protection...
But, yeah, the NXT products are good, too, for retail products...

What could smell better than Hydro ? Other than a baby just out of the bath, a freshly cut lawn, or my third grade teacher (Miss Memminger) who always smelled like a field of wild flowers ?? Hydro smells like peaches that were grown by angels !!
And sorry... Eagle one stuff can't possibly match the shine and durability of Hydro. Nuh-uh.
Flame over. But hey... you knew it was comin'.
kinda like a ferrari has 4 tires, a hyundai has 4 tires... works the same!
At least when it comes to detailing clay/lube, you can do well shopping at Pep Boys/Autozone/Kragen. I like the Meguiar's and Mother's clay/lube kits as much as anything else I've ever tried (Zaino, Griot's, Prima and a few others).
There are some good nationally-available car wash soaps, as well. I especially like the Meguiar's NXT car wash.
I *don't* think that you'll be able to find the same quality of microfiber towels at local stores that you can find online, though, and good quality MF towels make all the difference in the world.

I have Eagle One which was purchased by my father since I was low on Hydro (Got a new shipment in so I have a new stash). I gave it a try and it wasn't close to doing what hydro does. My main reason for using Hydro is on my black roof and pilars it hides any swirl marks that are there which eagle one doesn't do :(
My father who can care less about products even asked yesterday to use Hydro instead of the Eagle One. My father is going to buy a gallon of Hydro since he is a full blown addict now and washes his car at my house every weekend.

edit: also I like Meg's hot tire shine because it's aerosol with a adjustable nozzel. That smell also permeates the garage for a week <3 <3 <3

I had good success with the NXT stuff, just don't get any on the black trim. I now use a mix of Zaino and Prima products. The only issue with buying on-line is just make sure you check to make sure your not going to run out of something.

out of ALL Prima products, Hydro is the #1 bestest product with the
max bang for the buck (and time).
you can use all the off the shelf crap you want, but don't miss out on
Hydro.
imho, the only off the shelf that is worth considering is Meg's
InsaneShine tire dressing in the spray bottle and the Vroom applicator
ML told us about.
maybe the junk maroon QuickDetailer for
claying...that's about it.

Link to vroom applicator? I've got dressing that I like better than megs, but I can't find a good applicator that I like. The eagle 1's fall appart and make a mess if you wash them, and I've used 3 others that I've thrown out after 1 use. Cobra has a applicator that looks good, but it's looks too similar to the eagle 1s for me to take a chance on it.
I know this will sound strange coming from me, but if you simply MUST buy locally then help us open a DP store in your neighborhood!
No, no, that's not what I was going to say.
Let me try that again...
I know this will sound strange coming from me, but if you simply MUST buy locally and don't mind reapplying often, then I would go with ICE. It doesn't stain trim and offers decent short-term protection. It's really easy to use. It's biggest practical fault is that you have to reapply more often than some of the premium stuff. But for a locally-sourced product, I think it's your best bet.
With your value and practical goals in mind though, note that most of the mass brands, Ice included, you'll actually spend more per year than you would on a durable, concentrated wax like Epic or Hydro. Sorry... I wanted to refrain from an Epic/Hydro plug but I do feel that their cost-savings aspect can be overlooked and I wanted to just point that out.
That said, I know that regardless of the other reasons, sometimes you just want to go drive a few blocks and buy something! I can appreciate that. So if that's your case, then I'd recommend Ice.

To those who gave information on the kind of products I asked about: thank you!
To those who told me about more things to buy online.... well you can hardly help it at this point can you?
I may just go that route... if so I know where to find advice on using them.
Either way, thanks everyone for their advice... happy motoring.

Some of the best, except mine was Miss Dickson.

i couldn't find the link last time, but you can find them at Target.
Here's some more for you... The local bakery at 6 a.m..... garden grown corn on the cob cooking on the stove.... grandma's lilac bush in April.... bedsheets that were dried outside on the clothes line.
