You only clay what has paint regardless of whether it is metal or plastic underneath. But no you don't clay unpainted plastic except unless it is absolutely smooth like the A pillars. Arch trims, no. Windshield(not saying it's plastic..just adding it to the list of what you can clay), Yes.

Yep, I clay everything that's not textured (i.e. the black trim pieces around the wheels and the rest of the bottom edge). So... I clay the paint, plastic pillars, glass, and vinyl stripes).
Just use proper lube and you can't harm it. And when it comes to vinyl or clearbras, stay away from the edges. You'll get clay stuck in it and you risk pulling up the edges ever so slightly.

Yes! It gets all the gunk out of the teeny little sandblasted pits.
I never thought I'd say this, but I need to get a good rock chip in my windshield so I can replace it. It's horrible.
