KLASSE TWINS, TESTIMONY.
KLASSE TWINS, TESTIMONY.
Since I am not a show detailer and I keep my MC out in the Florida sun with sand and salt spray, I gave my Mini the 2 step process of Klasse wax (ALL In ONE)+(Sealant x2)+ carnuba when I bought the car in April. Washed it every week with Meguires Soap. Gave it A carnuba waxing three weeks ago. Left for a 3 day trip out of state. Parked my mini under a big Oak Tree for the 3 days to keep it cool and shaded. When I returned I was horrified to find that the Oak tree had shed and weeped its leaves and buds and left big brown permanent stains that would not rub off ,on my white top. I thought I would have to have a new paint job or at the least a drastic compounding job.------- Gave my baby a good wash with Meguires soap, all stains dissapeared, leaving me with an original shine that was, and is still, beading. This proves that the Klasse twins barrier held up and did not allow the Oak stain to penetrate the surface.
. Great for Mini owners who dont have the time to properly take care of their Minis due to time restraints.
I am a Klasse AIO fan. The sealant glaze is way to shiney for my tastes though & when I used it under my P21-S it prevented the carnauba from deepening my CR so no more SG for me but I am a huge AOI fan
I love this stuff... i can vouch for the durability... all winter, i had the Klasse on my mother's Audi wagon... and she's one of those 'go through the touchless car wash only' crowd... and i can tell you... after that sort of abuse without me washing her car by hand... it outlasted my Zaino with constant hand wash and Z6 after every wash!
does it work well if you like.... dont use the sealant?
Does it hinder durability? eh? I am going to try the klasse thing.
I would go prima Epic but I noticed that the klasse system is kinda easy. Oh, also, could I use something like my Spray on wax from Griot's on the klasse? I wouldnt want to mess up the klasse as it is acrylic vs. typical tech wax???
I have a huge tub of it still and it works well with griot's sealant and their carnauba paste.
I also have Speedshine. I am guessing that it wont matter with speedshine, speedshine appears to be quite mild.
Curious though as Klasse has its own Acrylic spray that is "meant" for it. I just wonder how necessary this is. I live in NY and the winters are harsh at times. I am concerned about durability and depth of colour. Put both of those together, I am happy. I dont care at all about gloss/shine. I have BRG 06 MCS with chromeline

El Jefe I am not using the SG in the future because it is so shiny & reflective that it stopped the carnauba from deepening my CR but if I wasn't going to carnauba I would use both the twins. That sealant glaze is hard as a rock. The AIO wipes on & off like easy breezy butter. The SG is a biatch to remove but you can tell it leaves a rock hard layer behind & you can layer it for a big shine & neither of the twins mar your black bits

I'd say it's the SG that contributes the most to its durability. Agreed it doesn't look as nice as other waxes. But you can't see your wax under layers of dirt and salt anyway.
That's why I think I'll soon be using the twins for the winter months, then back to epic or zaino for the summer. Many also layer carnuba paste over the twins for a deeper look.

I would use the SG for sure. It's not fun to remove, but it's not impossible. Make one pass (preferably with a PC with a microfiber bonnet over a hard cutting pad) and then go back over it and buff the heck out of the leftover traces with a MF buffing towel.
As for detailing sprays, I don't think it matters what you use on Klasse (I'm sure someone will set me straight if it does matter). I've used Sonus Spritz as well as Slick. Both seem to work fine. I use Slick now because it is available in gallon refills.
Sonus Glanz is another story. It's kinda like Hydro, but goes on dry. It's a lovely booster for Klasse, but Slick doesn't seem to get along with it. If I use Slick a day or two after Glanz, it is difficult to remove and leaves streaks. I guess it's best to stick with Spritz if you're going to use Glanz as a booster after washing.

This is the same combo i use.
Spray Sonus Spritz if you are having difficulty removing SG. It helps a lot in removing haze leftover by SG.

First, this testimony is proof of why everyone should wax their car! Indeed, wax, especially synthetic waxes, dramatically help prevent things like tree sap from being a problem on your paint. I hope all those who wonder if they should wax will read this testimony.
Klasse AIO by itself doesn't have a ton of durability (it used to but California's VOC regs required a change
). You can top with SG, which, as others have also said, is hard as a rock but a real pain to buff off. If you do use SG, apply it super-thin, let it sit for at least 4-5 hours (a day is even better), then have a sprayer of distilled water or quick detail spray on hand to help buff it off.
You can top AIO with spray waxes or other products, which you asked about also. Klasse AIO, being an acrylic-based product, is friendly with virtually any topper... carnauba-based QD sprays (like SpeedShine), polymer-based QD sprays (like Slick), synthetic-based spray waxes (like Hydro), carnauba paste waxes (like P21S, which is my personal favorite carnauba, btw), other synthetic waxes (like Epic or Zaino) and just about anything else you can think of!
The only caveat is that in most cases your topper will last only as long as the AIO. This is fine, as long as you think of AIO as a prep step (ie, cleanser and filler/concealer, for which is it a superb product!) in these cases. In contrast to most of the other toppers, SG will add tons of durability when topped over AIO. So, as is often the case, it depends on your personal goals and your personal application preference as to what combo to go with.

You only sell the sealant glaze.... wheres the AIO?
I am trying to consider this vs Epic. I want depth of colour and durability... sighs... hard to find. Need more durability though nowadays as foremost importance.
How hard is hard? I am used to thick paste waxes like griot's in a can. That's not that easy to get off. I never do a thin layer of it either.

i've found the only way to get AIO off my car is to clay. when using dawn to prep the car for some new wax, it only makes AIO bead water better, then when i go over with clay its obvious theres no wax/sealant.
I've never had a hard time buffing AIO off. the bottle says you can wipe it off immediately i usually let it set for a awhile or do the whole car then start buffing where i started.
i've never used the SG but i do like the way AIO makes my hot orange look

I'm not sure how to describe it. I've never left it on for 4-5 hours as Heather recommended (it's not an option for me), so maybe it gets easier after it sets up for a long time. After hour an hour, it feels almost sticky when I try to wipe it off. It grabs a microfiber towel and resists buffing. Using QD helps, but it's still easy to wipe right over spots of SG without removing them.
We should have AIO back in again next month. Sorry we don't have it right now!
As for finding depth and durability in one product, these are the goals we had when we formulated Epic. Granted, Epic's depth is more of a liquidy glossy depth, as opposed to a carnauba's warm depth, but it is still quite deep. Of course, it's durability is great too... 5-6 months in most situations (when prepped well).
AIO and/or SG have what I would call a highly reflective shine (especially SG) with really no depth at all, IMO. However, the combo (AIO topped with SG) is extremely durable.
As for how hard it is to remove SG, I agree with bee1000n's description. And although it definitely helps to leave it on for several hours, even then it can be a little stubborn. So, it's hard as in it refuses to come off unless you go over and over and over it with a QD (and add some swearing too!).

very confusing!
grrr.
I know DP wants me to buy Epic and it might be better advice. I see, however, how cheap the klasse system is. Not many have metallic cars in the detail forum. It is an odd but very true thing. I think BRG has the potential for the most depth. I do not see anyone with that colour car at all on here. (been a while looking). One car that can glisten well is the IMagox's orange car. the only thing is orange reflects a lot of light and looks fine if overly reflective.
I wonder how long a container of epic lasts doing a mini. I always use more than people say it takes to wax a car.

El Jefe why don't you just get a bottle of Epic & try it. It's not too high priced & from the reviews I have seen on here I can't imagine you would hate it. IMHO if you want depth you should not use the Klasse Sealant Glaze. I love the Klasse AIO but when I topped it with their sealant glaze my CR color seemed more red-orange. When I use Klasse AIO topped with carnauba my car looks darker like a deep cherry red. Does that make any sense?
Or best bet... call Heather on the phone tomorrow & tell her exactly what you want. Talking on the phone is easier than typing in a thread. DP sells more than Prima & Heather is unbelievably non-biased & doesn't only try to push everyone towards only Prima & will recommend products that will fit your needs
p.s... both bottles of Klasse will run you around $39 while the Epic is $23.

will Klasse AIO last as long as epic? I think probably the best bet would be to use something like Klasse AIO and then something else on top of it for fun when you have the time.
What can go over the AOI? I know "Sonus" makes stuff that works with it. I just am noticing thatAIO seems to be low in reflective gloss. I am super curious as to what the strongest system can be.
I just wonder how long AOI would last compared to Epic if you dont put the SG on top of it.

hm. thanks.
Two tablespoons is not a lot. I have to call DP and talk to them it seems.
confused about necessity for Amigo, epic and hydro. I am very into pre-wax preparation. I have seen how it made my carnauba paste last 1 month longer than anyone ever imagined it could in a hard enivronment.
Bamatt, You seem to have a similar taste in car products and looks.
What keeps you from going Epic? You like Klasse AIO a whole lot. How bad is the depth on the SG? I would only do one coat. You suggested a bottle of Epic although Klasse AIO in volume is cheaper to use. Confused.

The depth I get with the P21-S is what keeps me from going to Epic. I have not ever tried Epic so I cannot attest to the depth it may give. From what I have read/gathered I would say Epic isn't any where near as reflective as the SG so it does give some good depth but not as much as my carnauba does (but that's just me "supposing"). When I tried the SG & then topped it with my carnauba my CR looked orangey so I hated it. Upon talking to Heather she confirmed that I was not crazy :impatient & that the SG is very very reflective so it gives you more of a shiney shiney shine instead of a deep shine. On many colors I am sure the SG looks fine but I just hated the way it looked on my CR-all shine & no depth.

I just realized that you (Bamatt) live in Alabama.
You dont have snow there. well, nothing to speak about at least. neither much ice.
you can easily get away with AIO and ps21. That probably is the best combo for a mild climate. aio is impervious to much and not the gloss of the Sealant Glaze. AIO cleans and fills and removes oxidation. Probably, all in all, it would be the thing of choice for me. If i got the PW, I would do the "twins", or any other non metallic colour.
But.... I took Bamatt's advice and grabbed a bottle of Epic!
THis is a monumental thing.
DP guy told me that Amigo probably wouldnt be for me. I will try it one day though as I am a paint prep fanatic.
I bought a regular container of Epic and of Hydro
I identify with Kenchan and Bamatt the most on these forums. I never care for gloss, all I want is depth. However, I do not have the garage yet in life so I cannot fully do the Kenchan way. If it were up to me, I wouldnt use any of these and just use Griot's Best of show, no after wash spray, and Speedshine it 2x a day. That requires a garage :(
I also got 2 monster fluffies. Yes, I gave into the forum on that.
I bought 303 in the larger sized 33 ounce? bottle The gentelman helping me over the phone said that 303 is best for UV although Nero is more matte and nicer looking. I told him my primary need for interior spray is to avoid cracking, drying out and aging. He said then 303 would be best since I was less concerned about how it looks and more with strength of protection. once I get a garage, Nero will be my goal.
I am curious as to the interaction/ compatibility of 303 with Meguiar's quik detailer....
I called just now
Dennis at 303 is so cool. He loves his product and knows how to use it. I dare say that it is possible to use it on a car's clearcoat if you have the ability to buff it. I do believe this and am considering putting it on a friends car in spots to see how it fairs. Cannot really hurt it. A sledgehammer couldnt hurt this car :(
I found out that Ammonia based products screw up the curing process of once applied 303 on the interior. Interesting. Not that anyone should use ammonia based products, but you never know. It can make it haze and loosen.
Now to figure out on my own what Meguiar's Quik Detailer does to 303. I wonder if Octaneguy is reading this, he would have a better answer i'm guessing?

Please let us know what you think of the Epic when you try it out El Jefe. I would really like to hear what you think of it since you are a depth of shine fan like myself
I also love 303 Aerospace & have been using it for 2.5 years (since I got the MINI). It's great at cleaning & protecting all my interior bits & has kept my leatherette seats looking like new even though Petey the 70 LB puppy rides in one uncovered seat 4+ days a week
Also a monster fluffy fan. After you gets yours I predict you will join in on the push to get DP to manufacture a Monster Fluffy bathrobe too
p.s... my NAM name is bamatt because I am from Alabama & my initials are tt so there is a method to my madness
