Claying With Wax?

Does a clay bar remove wax? I waxed the little guy last weekend but did not have any clay until today, and I'm itchin to clay the car, but not use up my entire bottle of Epic.

If you're asking if you can clay THROUGH the wax and not have to re-apply it... no.

Besides, if the wax didn't get removed by the clay, what's the point of using it ? The clay would never touch the paint.

If you want to clay, you really have to start the detailing process over. Dawn wash, clay, polish, wax.

the griot's clay is suppose to not remove wax... but as CR&PW&JB&IB
mentioned (oh? ), the contaminant is UNDER the wax in your case, so you will
need to remove the wax.

why would you use a whole bottle of Epic? you really only need to use
like 2 table spoons at most..maybe not even that much.

You know about the myth right: whether its more practical to run or walk through the rain....which is it? Mythbusters have tested it.

sorry to hijak the thread!

If I remember right, you get less wet walking than running. You didn't get much less water directly on you if you ran and you get a lot more splashed water from your feet.

i use a blackberry to get real time doppler radar and watch the
cloud movement when i see suspicious rain clouds. then i can calculate
in my head how many minutes i have left before it rains on me.

I think you're right- that was the verdict in the first episode. But then fans complained about it and it was retested on an episode of Mythbusters Revisited. I think thats why I was confused.

storm pass by.

If you didnt clay your car before you waxed, the contaminates are under the wax. Like Kenchan said, Griots clay does not remove wax, but you want to if your contaminates are under the wax, or your not going to get them off. Also, as he said, if you are using a whole bottle of epic on two detials on the MIN, you are using WAY to much. Go ahead, clay the car, then wax it again, sounds like a great bonding opportunity.

In the revisit they concluded that a person gets wetter walking than they do running. They used a natural rain storm in the retest instead of the manmade rain in the first test.
