I've used it for years. Seems to bead water much longer than any other wax I've used. Fills in micro scratches better than standard wax as well. Too expensive to use on the massive surface of my full size pickup truck, which is showing fading much sooner than my other cars.

Have you used it on your MINI?

My grandpa had a '65 Corvair Corsa and that's what my Dad used on it when he acquired it.

The biggest difference between the Corsa paint and the MINI paint is that the Corsa didn't have a clearcoat (I think). I remember how much fun it was to polish the chrome on the Corsa when I was very young...grandpa had a product in a silver can that was wads of fluffy material saturated with some sort of polish. It was fun to see the chrome begin to dazzle...guess that's where I picked up my detailing bug.

It sounds like he used Nevr-Dull on the chrome.

Yes, I have only had to use it once in mid '04 about 6 months after I got the car. The water is still beading ,like its had a fresh waxing, but I'll probably hit it with Liquid Glass again sometime this summer.

That packaging doesn't look familiar...I remember the packaging as being silver/chromish...but hey, it's been 30 years!

Do you have stripes? If yes, do you use it on the stripes or do you avoid putting it on the stripes?

I don't have stripes, so I can't say for certain, but this is what their website says at http://www.liquidglass.com/lgpolish.htm#anchor48806: "Do not use on porous surfaces such as fabrics, upholstery, leather, vinyl, etc."

I used it years ago on my 1980 Prelude. Seventeen applications in one summer. That Winter the snow had a hard time sticking to the top and hood. The moment you moved the car it just fell off in a big pile. Great stuff. I don't know how well it will work with MINI paint. The Prelude had been repainted before I got it.
Also, worked really well on glass. Water would bead up just like rain-x but it also seemed to keep the window cleaner longer.

It is often found in stores in a silver can with black text. Mos tof my experience is using it on brass. Lots of brass on a ship.
