Condolences to VA Tech

On a much sadder note, I would just like to show my sympathy towards everyone at VA Tech. If anyone in the area would like to talk or needs anything, I would love to help as best as I can. I have a friend that goes there and I still don't know if she is alright or not.

Our thoughts and prayers go out. Our son graduated from VA Tech and our daughter currently attends Radford (only 15 minutes away) and she has (had) a couple of friends at VA Tech that are no longer with us... It's been an emotional day.....

Donna, please extend my sympathy to Tiffany at this very tragic and sad time for her and for all of us. I knew Robbie had gone to VA Tech, but I couldn't remember if Tiff did or not, and have been so nervous all day. sad:

My brother and a bunch of friends graduated from there. It is so tragic to hear about this sad, sad event. I am just glad Joe is not still there.

My boss and one of my former coworkers are alumni from there too. Terribly sad reality of today's screwed up world. I haven't heard yet if the shooter was another student (I'd imagine so), and what the possible motive(s) were behind it.

Tragic.

My prayers go out to those that had to experience today's shootings at VA Tech. I feel for the families that lost loved ones in this tragic event. My feelings are indescribable and very mixed. The words that come to mind are words I shouldn't say. First word I received of the shooting stunned me and immediately made me think of friends that attend VA Tech and currently lives in the West Ambler Johnston Hall dorm.

Once again my prayers go out to those who had to live through this tragic and terrifying event. My God be with you all.

My son's at Regent in Virginia Beach with associates at VT. He's heard from most of them, but there is one he has not.
He sent me this url here which is the local student news site and is being updated by students at VT.

I have 4 closer friends from highschool there as freshman, the closest of which, is an enginerring major. I've heard back from three of them, but the fourth is always very slow to call people back.

The wife and I would like to add our condolences to those already offered. Our prayers are with you at this time of tragic loss. Almost everything sounds like a cliche', but it comes from a heart that knows what pain feels like. May the God of Peace and Hope be a comfort to all of you who feel loss today.

Well, I finally found out that my friend is alright! Although her dorm room is in the building next to where the first two people were killed, and it kind of freaked her out. Again, I am sorry for anyone's loss and if I can help anyone in anyway please let me know.

Nice tribute... but watch out that the one in the rear window doesn't block your view too much...

heck of a thing to happen on one's birthday. My heart goes out to all who are directly or indirectly affected by this, but truly, this affects us all, doesn't it?

It's horrible to see stuff like this happen. The fact that someone could be so disturbed that they not only want to kill themselves, but 32 innocent people along the way just irks me.

My condolences to the families.

It's so close to 4/20, I wonder if the date has any significance and was planned to be close to Columbine?

Yea, I had it laying down but no one can see it. I think I'll be alright. If not I'll take it back down.

Being an Alumni family - I thought I would share the email we received from the school...

[SIZE=2]"Virginia Tech family members across the country have united to declare this Friday, April 20th, an "Orange and Maroon Effect" day to honor those killed in the tragic events on campus Monday, and to show support for Virginia Tech students, faculty, administrators, staff, alumni, and friends. "Orange and Maroon Effect" was born several years ago as an invitation to Tech fans to wear orange and maroon to Virginia Tech athletic events. We invite everyone from all over the country to be a part of the Virginia Tech family this Friday, to wear orange and maroon to support the families of those who were lost, and to support the school and community we all love so much."

My brother is an Engineering grad student at Clemson. I can't imagine the fear and heartache the families and friends went through as the tragedy unfolded. My heart goes out to everyone who lost someone, as well as those who are forever changed by having been involved.

A few of my friends that attend VTech decided to create some graphics and to help them pass them along here are just a few of them. Also Friday (4/20/2007) please wear Maroon and orange in remembrance of the students.
