Maybe I have not made myself clear...I thought I had, but I will state this again. this poll is NOT to make a limit/minimum/maximum of events or driving events for the calendar. My goal is to make our calendar full for everyone to be able to join us when they can.
My ENTIRE goal for this poll is to gaguge how many Driving events you all want to see on the calendar a month. that is it.
Have I made myself clear yet?

Personally, I would have just the one or two a month, or if more are on the calendar, plan them to be smaller events. It really is depressing to an event planner of a run to put their heart and soul into setting up an event expecting a large turnout, only to have a couple of folks RSVP or show up due to an 'over-saturation' of events. But as I mentioned above, it would work out if the event was originally planned on being a smaller event.... Even my craziest ideas had at lest 5 or so MINIs show up!

And I'll drop mine since I did events for the year prior to Paul taking over. The months where we had the best turnouts at events went something like this - assume four weekends in a month.

Weekend X- eating, social or mini drive event.
Weekend X - free
Weekend three - breakfast at dealership. Sometimes followed by a mini drive event. Sometimes made into a larger BBQ, car wash or hang out for the day together event.
Weekend X - driving event

I would suggest if we do two driving events per month that they are spread over the region. Example - if driving event one is in Western MD then driving event two should be somewhere in VA.

I agree that it sounds like a misunderstanding between what was meant by the word "run".

In the context intended, "run" = driving event, specifically - NOT social event.

Driving events take far more planning, and usually consume a much larger portion of the day than social events. People would probably get tired really easily if there was a DCMM driving event every weekend, and the turnout at each one would drop down significantly.

Just because we may try to limit driving events to roughly 2 per month, doesn't mean we can't have more social events inbetween!

I'm all up for social events. I joined and maintain my membership because of the people in this club. Social events? Oh yeah! I love hanging out with you all.
Bring em on! Dinner once a month? Breakfasts are already there...BBQ's- we already got one on the books. Drinks, bowling? Coffee shops...just hanging out in a park eating cherries! Let's get them on the books.
The time is right, the place is where you are, the people are wating to hang out! Plan an event! It's easy, you can do it.

I thought about this jokingly but for some it might not be that way.. might want to schedule around the 1st and the 15th due to rising gas prices!

As a member who faces the limitations of making events due to working 2 weekends out of 4, I agree whole heartedly. Both runs and social events bring folks together. And both are part of the fabric of what makes DCMM something people want to belong to/participate with.

I guess my vote comes down to suggesting about 2 Runs per month, and as many social events as circumstances allow !! (And gee, if by chance things end up being scheduled for weekends I'm off I just might be able to make a few events now and then!!)
