Lucky Dog Garage Dyno Day ***CANCELLED***

How does this sound?

Group dyno (Dynojet machine) for 8 hrs and up to 15 cars, $875. Equal to ~$60 each. I don't know how much others will charge though.

I believe Ferarri Custom Car & Truck (FCCT in Sterling, 1 block from Allsport Gran Prix/Go Karts) gave the East Coast Euro club that rate... I want to say VoiD, MDSBrain, and myself attended that event.

I'd be up to planning a DCMM (or non) Dyno day. Although LDG just got a dyno and maybe he needs some cars on it to test it out.

Although now that my car is AWD I need to find a AWD dyno.

I think it's up to us, if we have a group big enough to join as a group (10+)

I think if we have enough people, we can talk to them. Right, Alex?

Tech and Dyno Day

There was a very successful retailer in our area whos' slogan was "an educated consumer is our best customer". He was and is exactly right. As I talk with people and watch their spending habits I have formed the conclusion that most consumers are uninformed and/or misinformed when it comes to their vehicles. Nowhere has this been more apparent than in the Mini community and especially on NAM. One of the reasons that I've been so active in hosting open houses and tech days is to try to answer questions and shed some light on issues that many of you are concerned with.
Enter now the dyno. The dyno and its operation is a subject that most people, including those that own and operate them, don't understand. Most of the dyno information and numbers that I see posted are generally useless bits of information especially when taken out of context or arrived at without proper scientific methods. What I propose is a tech session and dyno day where we could spend some time explaining the basics of how the various dynos work, the math behind them, what they are actually measuring and how, and what the numbers mean. We could then test about 6 or so different cars and discuss the results. The dyno runs would cost $75 per car and would be a minimum of three runs using various load testing modes.
What I will be exploring with you are the laws of physics. Not LDGs laws of physics or Vendor Ys laws of physics but THE laws that apply to everyone.
I have two possible openings in March. Sat the 17th or Sat the 24th.
Those interested should organize themselves and contact me as soon as possible.

Sat the 24th is our monthly breakfast/annual business meeting. Keep that in mind.

Spoke with LDG and I will be posting info on the calendar for this event. Here are the details.

Starting at 10am, John will be educating anyone who wants to watch and learn.
We could then test about 6 or so different cars and discuss the results. The dyno runs would cost $75 per car and would be a minimum of three runs using various load testing modes

RSVP on the calendar if you want to get your car on the Dyno. I am sure if there is more interest than what he can do that day, we can always attempt for another one.

Hi. Im a dyno noob but very interested in participating. I do however have a question. My car isnt fully broken in yet and doubt it would be by the time this day arrives. Would it be totally useless since I can't go over 4,500 rpm's during the breakin period?

TIA

You'll probably need to hit redline to get true results, so hit the road man!! Put some miles on that car
