for those that asked if there would be test drives - I was told Yes - could change - but that is what I was told.

 

Dinner at Wegmann's before anyone? For those who haven't been, it's a grocery store just a 1/8 mile or so before MOS. They have a hot bar, subs, pizza etc and a nice upper level seating area to eat. WiFi too.

Since I work in Crystal City I'm just going to head out that way at 4 when I get off and 'beat' the traffic.

Anytime folks wanna come by, I imagine I'll get there around 5ish or just a hair before. The DCMM thing said the MOS is at 7... But my email from MOS said 6:30 so I plan to head over a bit before 6:30 to be able to park...

 

Has anyone asked if we can set up a table and banner? It'd be great, but we oughta get permission first.

Well, like I said, I will probably get there around 5 ish. I can't be more precise than that with traffic from here to there... I would say just get food and meet upstairs.

 

I'm hoping to get there to check out the new model. All the reviews I've read are pretty positive about the changes.

I'm not crazy about the new shape but I could live with it if I had to. The fake hood scoop bothers me. I guess the improved torque curve might make up for missing the supercharger whine.

But I pretty 'positive' I could not live with the dash. The whole center console turns me off. Just personal taste, but it's not to my liking.

While I don't like the styling of the dash either my biggest objection is the integration of the stereo into the speedo which just strikes me as a attempt to force people into OEM stereo systems by making it more difficult to use ordinary DIN mount gear.

MINI is not the first auto maker to pull a variation of this trick, but every one that has has earned the 'wrath of Mark'. Boooo! Boooo!
