Hood Induction Scoop

Does anyone have the Full Hood Air UInduction Scoop installed on their MINI like the one shown on the Palo uber mini website? They state that the full hood scoop actually increases the horsepower since it captures a significant amount of air than the stock scoop. Is this actually true?

I looked at their website and didn't see anything about a "Full Hood Scoop"...

Alta and M7 both believe that forcing more air into the intercooler results in more air, lower temperatures, and therefore better performance. Some people have done tests on it, and all of the results you're looking for would likely be in the Drivetrain forum.

If you got to their home page http://www.paloubermini.com/ if you scroll down you will see the Palo Uber Scoop on a grey MINI.

Getting more air over the intercooler won't generate more power. What it will do is keep the air flowing the to engine cooler which is prevent the loss of power due to pulled/retarded timing.

Ya, went there. I was looking for a 'full hood induction' type though. The scoop they have is similar to many aftermarket scoops, which is what I was saying. The 'full hood induction' are just buzz-words to make you feel warm and fuzzy about spending you hard earned $'s on some molded fiberglass.
