Lights...
Lights...
OK so a lot of threads say different things. Since i've met most of you already - there is a trust factor already there.
I'd like to know what others do for Lights (headlights and fog lights). What bulbs? wattage? brand? site?
I'm interested in swapping the stocks ones because RAIN on the highway is no fun. I even considered buying the ralley bar with more lights but that would be an overkill.
I work with computers all day and sit at one for atleast 6 hours out of an 8 hour day (average guess). I know my eyes have taking a beating but i just feel the Mini's lights can be brighter. (I didn't go with the Xenons
)

There is not much you can do except buy one of the big four brands in H7 for lows and high
Narva RangePower+50 and RangePower+30, GE Night Hawk, and Philips Vision Plus, and Osram Silver Star
BTW, those Osrams are NOT the silvania silverstars sold in the US. They are the European version.
See danielsternlighting.com
Phillips are easy to come by, about $45/pair
DO NOT buy any of that colored junk, you will see less.

We got the www.CooperSport.ca Exterior lighting kit
it is really nice! And BRIGHT!!! This changes everything but the xenons to bright white. Pretty close to Xenons, and inexpensive too. Check it out.

As Art mentioned you probably want the real Osram Silver Stars out of Europe and not the Sylvania/Osram bulbs they sell here.

Sorry but read Danielstern. Your only deceiving yourself. Anytime you go higher towards Xenon 4200K, you get LESS light.
Thanks for the feedback and suggestions.... much appreciated.
I should've mentioned my current setup and things I’ve tried. For the high/low beams i went with this Japanese type of HID called Luminics:
Bulb Type: H7
Wattage (draw): 55
Wattage (output): 130
Color: Pure Blue
Color Temp: 6000K
They looked really cool but didn't serve their purpose as head lights. I switched back to the factory bulbs after 1 week. ((If anyone would like to buy them from me - half price - I paid 20 for a pair))
For fog lights i went with Yellow (Luminics also) - cool factor was there and they did their job (not that there's that much fog in this area - other than this week). You clearly see the yellow and it helps a lot in rain. I'm sticking with these.
Specs on those:
Bulb Type: H11
Wattage (draw): 55
Wattage (output): 130
Color: JDM Yellow
Color Temp: 2500K
For the front bumper turn signals i went with the clear version of the stock ones (don't remember the exact number) but since they only come in Orange - i went with the model right next to it and sanded down one of the stub (found that trick on NAM). For the side turn signals - just swapped that one out with clear bulbs also. AutoZone had them so i just went with those.
My end result would like to be a combo of the cool factor and serve their purpose.
