Custom upholstery / seat covers biz VA or MD?
Not for my MINI, for my Dad's Saab. But hoping to take advantage of our network of knowledge.
He's got a 98 90000 CSE, very nice car. Most of the big online vendors don't have seat patterns for it, it was a limited production 'flagship' model and only 1300 imported our of 1500 made that year. The seats are a bit different from a normal 9000.His front leather is shot. I'm looking for a MD or VA business that does custom seat covers, or possibly even reupholstery of leather seats. Preferably that someone has first or second hand knowledge of vs me just blindly picking from the phone book.
Anyone got a reccomendation of a shop? Also be amused if anyone has had two leather buckets re-upholstered as to aproximate cost.
Thanks
Seat covers
Mark - I got a custom leather interior on my Mini. I choose both colors from a wide assortment and had the option of adding perforations and piping in a different color. Also could have gotten the MINI logo on the headrest. Cost equaled the price of the normal leather upgrade and included the back seats and the door armrest.
That said I cannot recommend the group that did it because I had to take it back for repair of my heated seats three times. I also have a hot spot where they soldered a break in the heating element - rendering that heated seat's function as unusable unless I want to risk second degree burns. Otherwise the interior is quite nice. They merged with Seatco.
I have been fascinated with the ability of the upholsterer on the show "Whip MY Ride" on the Speed Channel and I believe they are in New Jersey and they have a website as well.
