This ever happen to you?

So I'm rushing from one appointment to another and I'm trying to read my cursed Blackberry while I'm tooling along and I duck into the parking garage basement to get my car. It's one of those places where you have to leave the keys hanging in it if you didn't get there early enough, and I didn't.

So I'm wandering around, unable to find my car and cursing that someone or some attendant moved it to another corner. One attendant even suggested it might have been put on another level.

So I check around more and there I spy what I'm looking for - an all Jet Black MINI - but I walk up to it and it doesn't feel right. Since when do I have "222" on the side of my door? And I know my window are tinted but I don't remember them putting a bat image on there, too! AH - I've found Wagnbat's BatMINI.

Finally I take a deep breath, walk back out onto the street and look around. 30 feet away is the entrance to MY garage, where I find my JB MINI parked right where I left it.

Stupid blackberry

I never quite did that exactly, but it reminds me of another story! This was probably 10 or 11 years ago, when I still had my first car, an '86 Toyota Camry. I parked in the center parking lot at Paramus Park in NJ. Now for those unfamiliar with the mall, the center of it is sort of a round atrium design (or at least it was, haven't been there in years). Well, I went in with a friend, we did our shopping, and we were talking when we walked back out. I went to where my car should have been parked, and it wasn't there!! I searched frantically for about 15 minutes, trying to figure out who would want to steal a close to worthless nearly 10 year old car. Then my friend asks if there was a highway next to the parking lot when we got there.... We walk back into the mall, then back out the opposite side of the atrium, into a mirror image of the parking lot I just searched, and found my car right where we left it! I got crap from that for years... (even though I think that it was just as much his fault! )

[also not exactly the same but ...]
At the first MINIsOnTop - the first time I'd been at an event with LOADS of MINIs - I tried to get in to the car behind mine in the line to the top of Mount Washington ... it was also Indi Blue (didn't have the painted roof but I guess I wasn't looking carefully either!)

Nope never happend to me! But I must say that is pretty funny!
The day I try to get into someone else's EB/W, is the day I go blind, since no one else has the same designs as me. And they are pretty noticable! Good story!

similar but different. Travelling down RT. 95 as a passenger in a friend's benz S class at a fairly brisk pace, he blew by a statie tucked up under one of the overpasses. He looks in the rearview just in time to see the blues fire up and the cruiser pull out in hot pursuit. As we were coming up to a rest area ,my friend pulled off the highway into the rest area and pulled into an empty space in a line of cars and waited for the hammer to come down.As we waited, the statie came up behind us and just stopped.Didn't get out of his car , just kept looking at us and the car beside us. There, beside us was the IDENTICAL (in every way) CAR!. He just drove off in disgust, no way could he tell for certain which car he had clocked on radar.........PRICELESS!

what luck is that! what are the odds that you and your friend would find a spot next to an identical car?

I have used the panic button before to find my car when it decided not to be in the place where I thought I left it!

When I traveled a lot, it was not uncommon for me to walk into the parking lot not knowing where I parked whatever I was driving, but what color as well. So then I'm looking at the rentals key fob for hopefully color and license plate number. Geez!
