Officially Out of Warranty (well, maybe not)

OH NOES!!!111one
Actually I'm officially out of warranty now because I've passed the 48000 mile mark. Originally picked up the car on October 30, 2004. But I didn't really start driving it until mid-to-late November. So I used up a 4 year warranty in less than 2 years.

MINIUSA Warranty is 50,000 miles

Hate to break it to you but you still have another 2000 miles of warranty.

I'm really good with my hands...

Anyway, I could have sworn the warranty was only 48,000.
Either way I don't really have 2000 miles left. I think my odo reading when I got home was 48050 or something.

Either way I'm still on track for using up a 4 year warranty in under 2 years. Based on my daily driving and such I'm using up the remaining ~2000 in about a month.

That buffer also gives the time to wait for my AAA membership stuff to show up so I have roadside assistance when the warranty finally does go up in smoke.

30-something mph, quarter tank of gas used... are you sure you're not in one of the cars from the Italian Job coaster?

My car turned 50k miles less than a month ago, and sure enough, my Xenon light stopped working last week. $600 bucks to fix, and the dealer most likely won't cover it. Grrrr!

77K on mine. Power steering motor ran about $800, and now I need to replace the HK's amp, which retails for about $760. Working on a used one...

Are these prices including labor? They sound a little high for just parts . I took delivery of mine one May 16 of '05, and at this point I have about 27,1xx miles on it! That's not including the 2,800 miles I put on my new motorcycle since June 15 of this year.

You're slacking
I think that almost borders upon abuse.
I'm going to be calling MINI Social Services now and starting a case file on you.

Must be from the AutoX and those 45second runs. I've had my car since May05 and I am currently @ 17800.

Matt I blame your mileage on going to the Dragon

I think the extended only bumps it to 65,000. Don't know for sure though. Paul! would know as he bought it too.

The $800 for the power steering motor includes labor, while the $760 for the amp is parts only. I am told replacing the amp is within my limited skills range. Used amps can be had for far less.

05 MCS took delivery in June. One year later 34,000. I am on my way to 50k in the next few months. Mini's are just too damn much fun to drive.

Dude your slacking around, I picked mine up about a week or two before that and have already broke the 30k mark. You gotta catch up to me.

Actually "Streghina" went to the Dragon twice: I don't commute my most distant client is 7.1 miles from me.. and twice a week I go w/o car. The most driving is between DC and Annapolis once or twice weekly. My work related driving is limited to 35-40 miles per week, during the weekend I go for twisty roads, autocross, or just walking around Annapolis...
