No, the regular warranty is 4/50000. Service is only 3/36000.
An extended service contract would make sense that it would bump to 4/50000. Warranty != Service.

When I purchased mine from Tate the only thing that was offered to me was an extended service contract to 4/50,000 which I did opt for. There was zero, zilch, nada, zip talk of an extended warranty. If it was offered through BMW/MINI and not a 3rd party I would have gone for it.

All of my other vehicles have either 5/100,000 or 7/100,000 warranties on them. If I trade up while the extended warranty is still in play then I get a good percentage of it back or I can transfer it to the new owner or to a another vehicle of the same make....so in my case anything that DCX makes.

I have always been a truck guy and have never had a DCX product do me wrong or leave me stranded - RAM TOUGH!

Winston03 just turned over 50K. I have been taking him on business trips when the milage is 550 miles or so. Sure beats standing barefooted/beltless/hatless/jacketless in a security line at BWI. Fly naked!! And it's a lot more fun. And I can usually beat the plane counting getting there and ground time. Did I mention that it is a lot more fun?

BTW - I have lost track of the site that is keeping track of the mileage. Does anyone know where it is?

Site keeping track of mileage? Are you talking about filling in the profile on the Owner's Lounge?

That might be it. Thanks for the hint. I thought there was a thread keeping track.

Quote: I think the extended only bumps it to 65,000. Don't know for sure though. Paul! would know as he bought it too.
Welcome to the < 2 year warranty club!

It depends on which warranty you get. Mine cost somewhere in the range of $2K () for 2 years or 50,000 miles with a $200 deductible. I bought it from Tate MINI just as I crossed 50K miles. There's all kinds of options and price ranges available though.

Strangely enough though, it's not an official 'MINI' warranty, as they don't (or didn't?) offer an extended warranty plan, so they sold me one through GM's extended warranty program!! I was assured though that I could have my MINI serviced by MINI with no problems, and the documentation that I have supports that.

I mainly bought it because I simply don't trust the CVT transmission. And if it goes out, when you include parts & labor, it's about a $8000 job to fix!! I'm actually hoping that it does die before the warranty ends, so I'll have the warm fuzzy feeling of a new transmission. Having said that though, I have had absolutely *zero* problems engine and transmission-wise on my MINI. And my little CVT hasn't had the easiest life!

-Paul!
