Shop Recommendations

I had a tire situation this weekend and I thought it would be nice to have a shop recommendation thread for the area.

So feel free to post yours

Mine:
Goodyear Auto Service Center #0238 - McLean, VA
703.506.1067
Recommended Person - Henry A. Shimberg (Service Manager)

The Story:
1. Driving back from a friend's place friday night, clickety click sound - screw in rear left.
2. Call places saturday, only Goodyear can even get a tire, tells me to come in sunday.
3. Go in sunday, no tire, no one can go pick it up until today.
4. Go in this morning, manager is at desk, hears my story, checks my tire out. It can be patched.
5. Calls me back in < 2 hrs, Car is ready.
6. Go in, tire warranty covers patch, will have to be replaced next time.
7. Me happy , close wallet, get in MINI, drop windows, happy music, motor home

So that is my good experience with the MINI.

Now tell us yours, ones to avoid, ones to go to.

I am off to catch up on my motoring for the weekend!

I live in McLean and can vouch for the local Goodyear store as well.

That said though I tend to drive to Radial Tire in Silver Spring. They have very competive pricing for new tires and help the local SCCA. I have gone to them for wheels purchased from tire rack (16x6.5 SSRs).

Radial Tire is located at:
9101 Brookville Rd
Silver Spring, MD 20910

Not sure what you mean by this. If you mean the OEM RFs, Tire Rack has them and can probably overnight them for you. I agree that they are hard to fine tho.
