So, I was driving into work this morning maybe 10 miles from my house. I was puttering along at a measly 45mph heading towards work. Then my engine decides to do something odd. It's like there was a sudden release of pressure and my revs dropped to 2000. Did I mention I was going 45 in 4th gear? Anyway, SES light comes on, I pull over in a little shopping center and wait 2.5 hours for a tow truck to show up. My car is now sitting at MINI of Towson awaiting diagnosis. In the meantime I have a PW MCSC as a loaner.
At least I know they can't blame any of this on mods. I have done nothing to my car except a roof graphic and a whalen. I haven't even put in the AUX input I bought a month ago.
Oh yeah, Wayne no longer works at Towson. He went off to start his own tuning garage in Aberdeen. Aparently the guys there were a little shocked too.
Diagnosis: Supercharged Bypass Valve.
My car is now back in my hands.
The convertible was nice, but there were too many things that annoyed me (just slightly) about it.
