Cooper S in SSC

Just wanted to get the word out that we'll be fielding a Cooper S in showroom stock C . The car is driven by Will Haney and prepped and maintaned by Glenelg Servicenter. We will be attending National races only in a quest for a National title in SSC. Our first outting this year was at VIR at the Oak Tree National where we qualified on the pole in a field of six cars, five of them Minis. We have a few more test races this year before the season ends the we start in earnest this Jan at Sebring. I'm going to have the car with me at the Mini track day at the Point on Sept 10. Please stop by and take a look and wish us well. Stay tuned for pics and more results.

Cool...

Look forward to seeing the car, and meeting you. Been wanting to get out and see your shop, there are mods in my future

We had a tire test day at Summit Point on 9-19. Will was able to post 1:32.1s which is respectable for SSC. Next outing is Sebring in November with a couple more test days in between to get the car and driver use to each other. I feel that that there's another half second or so still available once everything is sorted out.

The Sebring race is the weekend after Thanksgiving which is the 25th - 27th. Because we started so late in 2005 we need this race as a license requirement. The SCCA has not posted a schedule for 06 as of yet but I do know that we'll be back in Florida at Homestead sometime in the middle of January. Look out south Fla as we'll probably bring the cold weather with us.

Sebring SSC

The Sebring race has come and gone and for our second event we were generaly pleased with the result. We qualified 2nd and finished 2nd. This result was in a field of 70 cars on a very crowed race track. While I was debriefing our driver and reveiwing the in- car video after the race , he was complaining of a lack of power coming off the turns in the lower gears. Despite the large sticky note that says "DSC OFF" stuck to the roll cage, Will had inadverntently driven the whole race with the DSC on!!! Once again the little Mini shows that it is the class of the field. Next race is January 15 at Homestead in Miami. We'll keep you posted.
