Anybody Need A Ride ? ?

My wife Elizabeth had some neck surgery a few weeks ago and he doctor has ordered "No Twisties, No MINI" for another month or so while she is still in the neck brace.

I checked with a couple of non-MINI friends and they are not available next weekend. So I wonder if anybody would like a ride?

Let me know (Email is fine) -- Tom

The route sheet has been added to the first page of the post. I tried to add it as a .pdf, but is it apparently too big a thing. So I did it as a .txt file, which is the first time I have ever done this. I can't open it on this computer (various fire walls preventing this......I am at work today) to check that it came out readable.

Please let me know if it did not.

It didn't work for me either, as text or with MS Word, on my XP machine. If you want me to do the original conversion to text/PDF and return to you for uploading, just PM me. I'd be happy to help. Lew

I removed the route sheet as it is not working. Don't know how to zip it etc. Have e mailed it to Paul for a final route test and I am sure he can figure out how to get it here for me.

For Paul,

Put another .doc file up, and Ima gonna slash yer tires

For the record, I rarely have issues with making .pdf files, and am willing to host the file on my own webspace, linked into our NAM thread.

A PDF of the route sheet will be online hopefully tomorrow. I ran the route today, and just need clarification on a point or two. The route is looking to be fantastic, though!!

Keep those RSVPs coming!

Once again I'm forced to be a fence sitter (ala Dragon). I want to come, but I have to work late on Friday night (network outage, server upgrade), and I'm not sure exactly how late I'll be up. Clearly getting up early to drive up to Frederick might be a challenge.

Just in case, I'd like to RSVP yes, but it is possible I won't make it. Is there any penalty for not showing up to an RSVP?

From my point of view, better to RSVP yes and not come than to not RSVP at all and show up unannounced anyway.

Jen, what's your take? I hate to be a pain but my life ain't always simple... and based upon comments here, the drive really sounds like fun!

No worries. I probably received your message after I already sent the update to Jen. Consider youself RSVP'd, and you should be on the next update!

There sure is. According to club charter, you'll have to come to my apartment and wash, claybar, and wax my MINI!

Yes, but that would require me knowing where you live. Are you sure you want to take that risk?

I'm pretty sure that info is already somewhat available from the Drive In Movie night last week. Paul posted a .doc file with directions to the Drive In from the area he lives. Given the general area it probably wouldn't be too hard to track down where he lives.

And I think he misspoke, the penalty is that you have to wash/claybar/wax everyones car who showed up for the event.

After you did it we changed the rule... Too many people were trying to gouge their eyes out with spoons!

I mean it was almost as bad as Paul in his PJ's!
