Maybe someone can help

I'm looking for a place somewhere in the MD/DC area that does good detailing or someplace/someone where I can learn how to detail myself. For instance, the products to use, how often, wheel cleaning, etc.

I've done a search through the exterior/interior mods section and couldn't find anything. Maybe I'm not looking for the right thing?

I figured I'd ask, because I'd like to keep Binky (don't laugh ) looking sleek and shiny. I don't know the first thing about keeping up with the detailing of cars. Or heck, even starting.

Thanks for all your help, advice, etc!

Kat

The Detailing 101 forum just a little further down is where you need to look. Everything you could possibly want to know and then some

There's a guy a few houses down from me that removes the seats in his Miata every Saturday when he cleans the car's interior. He'd be the guy to ask!

j/k, I don't really know where you might go around DC...

detailing

My son does detailing, his address is joshpwaldman@gmail.com, and I am sure he would be glad to go over it with you. You could probably could do it with him. Send him an email and see what he says.

Cheers.

DS, where in MD are you? I found a place on Rt.2 in Pasadena to detail my car, but I don't know if he'll actually teach someone.
I think the detailing thread will help you a lot.

Check out www.nacarcare.com they've got a guide you can download that you should be able to use to get started...

BTW there's a link to them in the menu on the left side of your screen..

blu - i'm in Laurel off of Rt. 1. About 15 minutes from Hanover.

Thanks everyone for the tips. I'd like to learn a little bit about detailing just to keep my car looking nice. I don't think I've ever owned a really nice car like this and getting it dirty just seems like the wrong thing to do. It'd also save me a little money to instead of taking it somewhere.

wald - I'll probably e-mail him later on this week. Thanks!

Go to www.zainobros.com and shoot an email off to Sal Zaino...this man is the best at getting back to people with questions about detailing their cars...he's got a lot of good information. Zaino products rock, and they're always available to help with any questions you may have when using their products...I don't think you'd regret investing in some Zaino, I've never looked back since I first started using it 3 years ago.

If you want to see Zaino's effects first-hand, come check out my MINI in Laurel. Just PM me here, we'll set a date. I'll be at this Saturday's event, as well.

Haemish(Edge) doesn't know it yet, but he's about to "take the blue pill". Told him I'd share a bit of the Zaino, if he'll provide his own elbow grease..

Cheers,
Matthew Z.
