I could take you a real nice picture of my MCS sitting in my driveway covered in salt. But something tells me that wouldn't be near the same. Although with the predicted 8-15" of snow we're supposed to get here tomorrow maybe I might be able to get my car mostly covered in snow before we have to clear off the driveway.

Besides, the apocalypse doesn't happen 'til tomorrow

In this area you've got to add toilet paper to the list...

And we just got back from the market. We actually were out of milk (which David drinks tons of), and bread (which I eat a lot of) and some various food fixen's...

But we already had plenty of TP!

Even after all these years living in this area I still don't understand people. I can walk to a 7-11 if I were truly desperate for milk or TP and besides, even in the aftermath of some of our worst storms, most people can get out within a couple of days.

Are we mad!!!!!

Let me just clarify, this was a previously scheduled grocery run for items that were on the list already. Not a special snow trip.

CHILL BIG GUY The latest from WTOP is that it is supposed to start up again some time after 6pm.

Went out to my brothers this afternoon to start on my taxes , but the good news a large refund..... Now my kids can go to college..... While driving back from my brothers the lil'mini did just great in the snow. Stayed in 2nd gear most of the time. Had some great snow rooster tails every now and then. Once again, the MINI performed just great. It is always nice to see the SUV's spinning and sliding and using the various forms of OFF STREET PARKING . . . . . .

Hey paddy!

What tires do you have on the car these days?

BTW: if you haven't heard already, I traded the 2002 in on a 2005 Cooper - picked it up on Dec 21st.

But ...... it's Jet Black/W ... not BRG!!

.... sorry 'bout that!!!....

Even though this was aimed at Paddy, the Most Grand PooBaugh of Exahust Noise, I thought I would put in a plug for my Falken Ziex 512s. I am about half way through this Z rated all seasion tire. They are doing great in the snow. Not that good on ice going down hill and trying to stop from 20 MPH - but a few inches of snow will not stop me from motoring around . As long as the streets have had some kind of treatment they stop as good as can be expected. I like them enough that I will likely get another set. The compound is a little soft for a all seasion tire so some may think the tire wares a bit quickly. The grip is great though and they have been good in the rain.

Steve, Congrats on your car. I hope your enjoying it.
John

Normally I have Ziex ZE512's like John DaCrema, but for the winter I am running Bridgestone Blizzaks on 15" ugly black steel rims. The seem to be working very well.

Steve,
I'm using the 175/65 15" OEM's and have not had any problems with the current snow that is on the ground...

Great news on the '05, why not an "S" ? ? ? I'm a little hurt that it is not a BRG. . . .

Just went over 79K today and still runs like a top, can't wait for the Spring so I can start autocrossing again. . . .

Paddy an S supporter? Gee everytime I mentioned that we were considering moving to an S, you'd like at me like I was crazy. Then try and convince me to mod the Cooper instead!
