So the mystery here is that the 'Open the Blast doors' feature was only introduced in mid-2003 ... it should never have worked on your car!?
Something really odd going on ...

I guess I would still suggest removing the MINI circuit and re-checking your cars features.

I looked at this a little tonight. On my installation, if I hold the lock button long enough to open the windows and top, it turns off the auto up function. No big deal I never open everything from the lock switch. It seems that holding the switch and not flicking either of the window switchs resets the board somehow. I turned on the feature again and it works fine. Also, It could be that "Z3Bum" might not have the ignition switch in the correct position. THe auto up is supposed to work in position 1, the "Blast door" feature should work in any position. Just a thought. Frankly I kind of like the idea that the thing resets to factory speck by just holding the switch.

I am very late in saying THANK YOU Ian! I ordered 2 of your auto-up thingies but one was for Mike for Christmas - so I had to wait before I could tell him I ordered one for mine also...

Anyway - we've had 1 dry day here in So Cal and managed to get them installed in both MINIs - superb!!! The directions were awesome - they work like a charm....Again, thank you my friend....
