I need recommendations for local DC companies. Who does the best engine mods and window tinting other than dealers?

Glenelg Servicenter, John Behe's shop, in Glenwood, Maryland (http://www.glenelgservicenter.com/) and Racing Dynamics/Electrodyne in Alexandria (http://www.racdyn-usa.com) both have experience tuning MINIs to some extent. RD more on the exhaust, intake, suspension side, Glenelg has done some porting, airflow mods, and has experience building race engines. Who you use really depends on what you'd like to do. Both shops have deals for DCMetroMINI members.

I had my tint done at LA Tint in Sterling. I was very pleased with the results.

 

Ditto about LA Tinting. We had both our MINI's done by them - they did a great job...

Thanks for all the recommendations. I had National Glass Tinting on Metropolitan Ave. in Kensington,MD (also in Gaithersburg) do a 20% tint this morning for $139 (LA Tinting in Sterling, VA estimate was $209); five windows. So far it looks great and nice people to deal with. Ask for David/Marc. I'm going back next week to see if they can do the sunroof.

I see you had yours done already, but wanted to say I had LA Tint in Manassas, VA do mine last week, and it looks really good. $250 was the price, with the upgraded film (ultimate Formula One). May be high, but, about 50 minutes for all 5 windows, and well done.
