Hey all,

I really hate to do this, but I don't think that I'll be making it after all. I got the 'office crud' that's being passed around where I work on Thursday. I figured that I would be healthy by now, but I just woke up and did... well, let's just say 'unpleasant' things in my bathroom!

There's a really good showing for this event though, so I shouldn't be missed too much! And make sure someone takes pictures! I'm dying to know what the Babs' did for their costumes!!

Anyway, I'm going to arm myself with drugs, cheesy movies, and Campbell's Chicken Noodle soup (guaranteed to cure all that ales ya!) and not move off of the couch for the rest of the weekend!

Hope you all have fun!

-Paul.

Paul - sorry to hear you are not well. Get better and we'll see you in a few weeks at Roads & Rails - if something does not come up before.

The weather looks kind of cruddy right now, but The Weather Channel and other news networks are telling me we will end up partly sunny and in the 70's by mid-day. There is a chance of rain all day.

I am willing to take that chance, and unless it is pouring at 1:30 pm will be heading up to Summer's to have the event. I am even going to wash the car!!

Rain date is not possible, as both places close November first for the Season - both are working farms only open the month of October.

Computer at home is ridicuously slow (my own fault, I know. I will join the modern age someday) so I will check again about 1:00 pm and post any necessary updates.

You can PM me here or just call 202-369-5667.

Great time (pics on line)

Jen,

Just wanted to thank you for hosting a wonderful outing! This was our first, even though we've had our car since June 02. It was a very family friendly event. Both or our kids said they had a wonderful time - and both agreed Mini owners are just the coolest, most fun people around.

I uploaded the pictures my wife took. Hope you enjoy the pics.

We look forward to more DCMM meets!!

How late did people stay in the mazes? We gave up pretty early because of all the mud. I had visions of one of us going face first into the muck and our son wasn't very thrilled with the thought of losing his shoes.

My group found 4 points in the player part of the maze and that was enough. We were super muddy and walked out. Then a couple of us got in line for the pumpkin cannon. That was a blast.

A really great time, despite the mud. My first corn mazes and I'm glad I'm married (today's our anniversary ) to the "Human Compass" or I'd still be in the 1st maze!

Thanks Jen, for the event and the route which was really cool, especially Burkitsville. The Babischkin's costumes were....um...well.....hilarious!
Michael, you looked waaayy too good in that dress...red is definitely your color. Good thing there are photos for posterity

Indimini, thanks for sharing all the great photos!

Next year...I want to see more costumes, and fewer street clothes!

Hey all,

Looks like you all had a good time!! I wallowed at my apartment all day yesterday... fun... ... But I'm feeling better, just a nagging cough, and I think I might lose my voice today, we'll see.

Anyway, cool pics! I really like the MINI dressed up as a witch! And as for the Babs' costumes, in particular Mike's... uhh... Did you ever wish that you could un-see something?? (and how that angel halo didn't burst into flames... )

If you'll now excuse me, <runs away, hides!>

Hi everyone!

This was the first ever night time MINI event for DCMetroMINIs, and it was alot of fun! Thanks again Jen. I don't fair well in mud, and went slipping and sliding through one maze till I finally found a way out. (Should have brought real mud boots!) But the drive was cool, lots of fun watching all the MINIs zipping through the fog covered woods! Great roads too. We'll have to plan another night event soon.

I have posted some of my more incriminating photos here.

I had a really fun time. Thanks everyone for coming, and brining food to share. Amy's Mom saved the day with the paper plates, which was the only thing I forgot to bring! I think I ate too many doughnuts! The mud situation was pretty intense - I got mud places I didn't think it was possible to get mud. That and silly string.....................

Glad that the spooky fog cooperated for our night time drive. I need to invest in a maplight if we are going to do more of these.

The WINNERS!

Best costume: Mike and Patricia as the go-go booted, mini-skirted Angel in a white dress and Devil in a red dress.
Runner up best costume: Paul as Cesar - "Cesar Rules!"
Best cosutme for a MINI: Megan's Indi Blue Witch
