I won't be able to make the micro-run after all, but I am still making lunch at the British Pantry. Edge - you offering to use the same route as we did the last time at MoS? That was fun.....
For anyone who is interested in the "McLean Mansions tour & Twisties Run", which is a short (~20 miles), winding through the scenic road of McLean area:
The Meeting place: Linganore Dr. & Rt. 193 (off 495, on the shoulder of Rt.193), McLean, VA. 8.30 am.
As for where we meet at MoS, most people park in the MINI sales lot. Any space that isn't blocked off is fine, even if it says it reserved for someone. The only time anyone had a problem was when the parked on the road alongside MoS, next to the Volvo dealership. Volvo didn't approve of the intruder.

Reason: added info
If it helps, I can reverse-engineer the tail end of my "Spring Fling" route sheet to produce a slightly more interesting run from MoS to the British Pantry than the "direct" route (i.e. 28 to 50). I'll also be happy to lead it... but I won't be there for the micro-run.

OK, I have cobbled together 2 different routes from MoS to The British Pantry and printed them out on 20 handouts. Both routes are based upon parts of the Spring Fling run, and minimize the use of Routes 28 and 50.
Which route should we take? That kinda depends on the group consensus. Maybe some can take Route 1 and the others can take Route 2. There's about 3.4 miles difference in the distance, and the longer one is a bit more fun. Both routes are of course much slower than just using 28 and 50... but that's the boring "highway" route, isn't it?
I checked the route today and we're good to go! They've added a helpful speed bump on one of the roads. I guess they got tired of Chris speeding through there!
See everyone in the morning! Don't forget your radios, set to channel 7-21.

For those going to the British Pantry, I reserved 6 shepards pies and 8-10 spaces. Most likely you will be sitting outside. Just mention "DC Metro Minis" when you get there.

You're welcome, I LOVE taking pictures. (Especially of MINI's )
Thanks for the offer; it really only makes a difference for shots of the individual cars. And thank you for the help with the camera as well. (I swear one day i'll learn how to actually use all the features it has.)
