MINI system panic

While i was drivng home in the rain yesterday when my mini's EML, traction control, and service engine light came on all at once. The car lost power instantly there after. I shut the car off and restarted it. the lights went away for a minute before they came back. It took 1hour and 1/2 for the towtruck dispatched from mini to show up. We will see what today brings once sterling looks it over.

Hmm... you MINI ran on limp mode. Not very good though. Hopefully nothing serious, software reset or update might solve the problem.

just got a call from MOS that Dinan sent them the new throttle body. I called Dinan, and they said they sent it out on the 25th overnight. I am just getting a call for MOS to say they just got the part. The saga continues.

I believe they talking about the purple MINI (Cosmic Purple), the fast one.

He will be at the CDC event on Sat.

Btw, Ray, hope you MINI will get well soon. If you are free, stop by at the autox on Sat. I'll be there, 2nd heat.

I couldn't find any picture of his MINI but here is the link to a thread, https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...=104772&page=5

He was at Towson's autox last year, sick fast.

Sorry, Ray for hijacking the thread.

Now, back to the regular program.

I was happy to get my car . On the way back to work the EML light came on again. I had to take off of work to take to car all the way back to MOS. They informed me that there was a leak in the down tube. do not know exactly what that means. However, I was give back my car and told to call them on Monday to see if the part came in. On my to get my children the service engine light came on again with the EML. The last time this happened the car stoped on us.

Update, The car is back at MOS for more work. However, this time they provided me a loaner to drive while they work on it.

Just noticed your post from last week. Hope you are up and running now.

When the exact thing happened to me, it was failure of the supercharger bypass valve, and was replaced under warranty. There is a lot of information about that problem if you search for it. The part was actually redesigned at one point, and I made sure they put they improved version on by specifying the part number.

I drive 65 miles to MINI of Towson, instead of 23 miles to MINI of Sterling. Draw your own conclusion as to why.

The car is still in the shop. I have the Dinan package on the car so I need to use MOS. Thanks for the info.
