A clip for Ed and Glenn

Here's a clip for Ed and Glenn or any other Lewis Hamilton fan. This guy is the real deal, I would not be surprised to see him surpass Michael Schumacher's record.

Monaco was great ! I thought he was all for the can and we were in for another red car broken record race Hope Ron and the team provide him with a winning car I love the fact that he always thanks the team and the fans.

I've been to Montreal (2001 Ralph won) I wish I could have made it this year with such a tight field Back then McLaren had that odd firing order on the V10 and you could hear exactly where on the track they were - truly awesome !

Cheers,

Mike

Dear Katie,

You don't need to hit the lottery, I'll send my private Jet now that I've signed the Reebok deal. You can be my guest, first we'll take you out for a spin in the two seat Mac, then dinner and dancing. All I ask of you is a turn at the wheel of your MINI, deal ?

Cheers,

Lew

MrMellowYellow and I are Kubica fans since both of us are of Polish descent.

We have a good friend from Bahrain and have met the Bahrainian ambassador to US, been to events at the embassy, etc. We half-jokingly said we wanted to go to the F1 race in Bahrain next spring. Our friend has offered to pay for the flight and tickets to the F1 race next year. I've been practicing my Arabic in preparation!

Any room for a "friend" I'll spring for dinner one night I might even cheer for old Bob Kubica.....I'll even hold the polish flag....how about that ?

I must admit I was in tears after his crash last year in Canada. I thought he was dead or at the least, his legs were shattered, what a horrible impact and an out and out miracle that he was ok.

The nice thing about F1, at least for me, is that all of these guys are likeable and the last thing you want is for them to get hurt.

Take the heat and passion of their racing, the artistic qualities of their driving and the high-tech engineering and its just perfect for this left/right brain person !

Lewis is about the only F1 driver I don't like. His personality just rubs me the wrong way. It surprises me to hear people ready to declare him or compare him to the all time greats after just one season (which also adds to my distaste for him) which was far from mistake free. I agree he is very fast and very talented, and they all make mistakes the first few seasons. But I find comparing him to the greats already more than a bit premature!

I found myself a fan of many more drivers after one of the sessions they had at the Indy F1 when they interviewed every single driver.

It wasn't any easier sitting right there in the grandstands. Im hoping for better things from Kubica and Heidfeld this Sunday.

...one more day, and we're outta here!

Today's race results at Allsports GP Kart Track

It is with great pleasure that I can report being soundly beaten by Mr. Magda today, who turned in the fastest lap time of our two races.

The track was slicker than usual, attributed to dust and pollen according to the employees, and it was next to impossible to get the tires to hook up. So our lap times weren't as good as last time we were there, but we were pretty smooth and consistent today and had a terrific time. Every turn was an adventure in drifting!

Also discovered an incredible Chinese buffet at the end of the road (China Buffet, maybe) with absolutely the biggest and best quality assortment of food choices I've ever seen. Gotta add this place to the list, and plan on stopping there after our next race day.

Yup. Loved that Tyrell. George Harrison mentioned in a song called "It's what you Value" on the album 33 1/3.

I liked the F1 COOPERS!!!

But Ed still beat me in both races in average lap time and that's the number that counts. Even though I was within a tenth of a second, he likes to take the first lap 4 seconds slower and that lowered his average. He still blows me away and I bow to the master.

By the way, this is just the latest part of my MINI Jedi training that Master Ed has been helping me with.

Y(ed)a, as I like to call him, has helped me become a more confident driver in a bunch of different ways and this particular one, going to the Kart track, has helped immensely.

Some things are easier to learn here on the karts than in your car and I'd highly recommend it to everyone.

Glenn

What the Mrs. failed to inform you all is that plane tickets alone are around $1600 each!

Ed bought me a Coke at the track last time we were there and I felt indebted to him for just that! So, unfortunately, there's no way that we could take this friend up on his offer.

Maybe next year we should make a trip to the Canadian GP as a group.

Btw, Spitfire....I was also tearing up when Kubica crashed last year. I totally thought I just witnessed a death of a driver. Then again this year, was it Kovalienan that went head first into the tire barrier? That looked gruesome as well and I told Bev that it doesn't look good.

I'm just so glad (and amazed) that all these guys get out of these situations okay.

Or better yet, a group trip to Indy! ( He says with a prayer that Indy is back for '09, they say there's still a month or two to work it out )

Even better!

I gave up on hopes of a return to Indy a while ago and forgot about it but if you're telling us it's in the works then that's great news!

I like the idea for Canada, but I'll have to see how things pan out. My brother and I have been talking about going to the Brit GP assuming they still have it with all this scandal crap

As for crashes, I'm afraid the odds of someone getting killed are not in their favor. Its just a matter of time We can only hope that it doesn't happen.

Its too bad that Bernie keeps trying to make F-1 "Open wheel NASCAR" where the cars are all clones, it was so cool to see the wild engineering that was applied back then. I always felt that is what F-1 was about, pushing technology, seeing just how far the performance could be developed.
