Bad experience at Alexandria Bavarian

I took my car in for service to Alexandria Bavarian, and I have to say, the service was terrible. The guy couldn't wait to get my car out of his shop, was condescending, and didn't even do a great job. To be honest, it was pretty half-assed. I told him I got my oil change 10,000 ago (I follow the dealership schedule), but I never got the counter reset. But he got in the car, saw the counter, and told me I needed an oil change 10,000 miles ago and was 4 quarts low. So he threw in some oil, closed the hood, and called it a day. Now I have to go elsewhere to find out why I'm missing those quarts of oil, as I wasn't due for another 5thousand miles. He really couldn't be bothered to listen to what I told him or to actually figure out the problem. For what they charge for labor, they are not worth it!

So sorry to hear of your experience. You might want to pop over to Funkton Autos (their banner is on the top of the DC Metro MINI forum, I believe). They've gotten nothing but rave reviews from fellow DC MINIers here.

Sounds like a shop black list starting... I cant stand that. I have a small shop I go to and he does nothing but help, Its not the BEST looking shop but he is more than willing to go out of his way and be straight up with you. I can sacrifice looks for accuracy and honesty..

I guess that's not surprising. I recently called them to see if they could repair aftermarket struts on my M3, and they wanted nothing to do with it. I went to Curry's, which did a great job and were very friendly and professional.
