Thanks to Claymore for organizing an amazing event.
I love the route, the run was great, coffee and all..... perfect.
Also, many thanks to everyone who's shown up. Great companies.
We have a great turned out, 12 MINIs. Included a twins, HO convertibles.
And welcome to our new members who joint the run today.
I'm sure you all had a great time.
Can't wait to see some of the pictures.
I wish I could stay all the way through the end.
Duty called.

My Photos
I have a couple cool pix, but I'm not sure how to shrink them to 800 x 800 size. Can anyone share some advice? (I'm on Vista.) Thanks.
I had a great time today. Thanks to all who helped put the run together. It was nice meeting new people and saying "hi" to those I already knew. I can't wait for the next run! Hope to see you then!

Agreed, thumbs up to Claymore.
And if you all liked these roads then stay tuned for a possible summer event being put together by ccc777, Maxicooper, GreenCactus and myself. We'll include some of these same road (in the opposite direction) with some local hidden treasures that the Mrs. and I have been searching out.
It was great seeing everyone in addition to meeting new people.

One more pic...
My favorite... rainbow MINIs! Check it out! We look like a bunch of skittles!
Thanks to everyone for going along with my silly idea of parking in quazi-ROYGBV fashion. That was my all-time favorite photo op! Guess who has a new desktop image tonight?
Special thanks to Maxi for resizing each picture posted tonight.

Oh, Claymore. It's nice having someone local to swap good roads with. Can you recommend anything around Gaithersburg? South of 27 and east of 270?
We've been driving the heck out of the Upcounty (Sugarloaf, Poolesville, Damascus and north) area and we've just recently started branching out in all directions. We've hit Burkittsville, Middletown, etc. but we really haven't explored Gaithersburg or areas south and east of that.
We really didn't think there'd be anything good in that vicinity but a couple weeks ago we stumbled upon Davis Mill Road, Wildcat Road and Blunt Road. Great roads...some of the best we've been on!...but it's only about 15 minutes worth of driving.
Any suggestions for other roads like those?

Try Rt 75 out of Hyattstown up towards Monrovia, or Clarksburg Rd. There's a whole bunch of nice (but short) back roads in a triangular area between Clarksburg, Damascus and Hyattstown.

Yes, 75! That's the road I was thinking about yesterday when we were talking, not 27. My future route ends by taking 75 to Browningsville to Clarksburg. Too bad Clarksburg is 30mph! Agh!
And it's too bad that Davis Mill and such are in high traffic areas. They're tight roads and I can't believe the amount of SUVs that always seem to be on there. Don't they know these roads are reserved for MINIs?!

We wished we could have made it but I had a demonstration flight to do.
I did get to wash Wensleydale
Unfortunately, I also had to get the Scratch X out again
MOT scratched a 10" x 10" section of the right rear 1/4 panel. I just cannot understand how this can happen......ugh. Almost looked like someone was leaning against her and swaying back and forth. Anyway, I buffed it out and you would never know it happened......
I've picked my way through some of the roads mentioned before, some good ones !
Cheers,
Mike

Actually, Bev and I have been meaning to hit VA at Point of Rock. After seeing the roads yesterday, maybe we'll target that area for exploration instead. Looks promising.
Okay, Spitfire. At this point, I'd say it's personal between you and MoT. Did you tick someone off there? Oh, I know. I heard that if you didn't buy your MINI from Sterling, that you can't get a loaner. Maybe at MoT, if you didn't buy your MINI there, they scratch your car. Hmmm, food for thought.
