So got the car back yesterday and it looks good considering the amount of sheetmetal damage inflicted upon it by the guardrail.
I decided to upgrade and on the suggestion of a certain pot stirrer settled on forged alloys. The JCW upgrade has been planned from the beginning - since I haven't driven my MINI in such a long time I'll need some seat time to examine the JCW kit further.
Krut, what's your report on quality of workmanship and the overall experience with CrAshburn?
Thanks for the compliments - CrAshburn - they do good work, but they were very very very slow. Took almost two months to get the car back. They told me they have more than 50 cars on their lot. That's a lot. However, in my experience when you have a body shop that just turns cars out - they miss a lot of little things. With CrAshburn, only one little detail that needs to be adjusted (hood alignment seems slightly off by about 2-3 mm) but nothing out of the norm of what comes out of the factory.
Nice!
I like the exhaust and the wheels. Where did you get those from and what tires are you using?

JCW Kit from MoS.
Wheels from Speedware out in Seattle - they cut me a good deal on the forged BBS alloys - $1850 - the set on TireRack (if you can find them) would've been $2200 for the wheels alone.
I'm running Bridgestone RE-01R tires. Very nice so far. Just have to make sure that I take it easy on temps below 45 degrees.
Probably thought Kurt was a terrorist, using the busted bonnet cable as a ploy to hide his weapons. I have a feeling this story ended with some form of body cavity search.
