[Sat, Nov 17th] Dyno Day at Mach V
I'm in
PM on this sent also, but,Pencil me in for the 940 slot if it is still available.Looking forward to being there.....-------------04 MCS EB/W, 15%pulley, 2%crank, GRS, JCW intake, 380 injectors, H-sport rear bar, Milltek catback.
Mach V is new to the MINI scene and the dyno days have become a regular event among the EVO and Subaru guys. I'm not surprised one bit....very few enthusiasts among the MINI crowd compared to the other two marques.
As for the price...the price is the price. Cheaper than driving to Long Island and paying $50

Well, I guess I was the only MCS to show up on Saturday. I may have missed PGT, I can't remember what time I got there but it was way before my slotted time. I'm gonna guess I was there around 10:00.
Just so you know I felt like the underdog in a field of Hp monsters. I was constantly hearing numbers ranging from 277-310 and up. The cars that showed were STI's, a Legacy, Evo's, an M3, Mazda 6 (can't remember if it was a speed6), an RSX S, and a few others.
Dan and MachV, thanks for a fun day!
03 MCS l 96,500+ miles l Stock Hp was rated at 163 (crank)
Current engine and efficiency mods are.
ALTA 15% Redux Pulley l ALTA 2% Crank Pulley l ALTA CAI w/ hose l ALTA Intercooler Diverter l M7 Extreme Scoop l B&B Exhaust l Kingsborne Wires l IK22's l
Well, here are the numbers and graphs.
All 3 runs

Best @ 167.8 (wheels)

Someone tell me if I've done my math right.
04-06 MCS's are rated at 168Hp from the factory. They were tested stock on the previous dyno day at 154Hp at the wheels which is about an 8.3% drive train loss, right?
So, If I plug that 8.3% into my 168 at the wheel I would be getting 181 at the crank. Does that sound right?
If, so. My 03 started life making 163Hp and is now making 181Hp (crank). Hmmm...Now that I am thinking about it, I was hoping I was making more.
I've gotta be doing something wrong here.

ECU is next. I just haven't figured out where to go. Not sure if I want a cookie cutter tune because I don't know of any that have tuned the 15%+2%. I don't think John would talk to me since I have a 2% Crank on it anyway, or so I've read.

, there will be few good tuners coming out in the near future. And I'm sure they will come close to us, if not in our area, to do dyno tuning pretty soon.
While you are waiting with patience, check the threads below, so much fun to read.

Big Dog, from the post that I have found from you, I can guess who you are. I had PMed/emailed John about doing a possible re-dyno tune on Soulfire about a few months ago and did not get a reply. I took that non reply as a "no thanks" to me.
Yes, there are a "few" members that are in contact with John and I don't know the details as to why LDG stepped away from DCMM, but that is his decision.

No, I haven't stepped away from anything and I stay busy taking care of a couple hundred loyal Mini customers. There are problems with the local group as evidenced by PGTs's post directly after mine but that's just one isolated incidence. As for the P.M. issues, I dropped my vendor status on NAM and was unable to get my P.M.s but like I've said before there are many ways to get in touch with me. I still right here. Everyday.
Guys, enough.
I can confirm that the previous LDG account on NAM is no longer active. PMs can't be sent/received from it any longer since vendor status was dropped.
If you still want to contact LDG, the best way is likely to call them directly.
