The Dragon is alive and well

I just got back from my first time at The Dragon and it is truly as everyone has said - great! First, all the talk of the super police presence is wrong.
I was there both Monday and Tuesday of this week and saw not one cop
in either NC or TN including the Cherohala Skyway, Rt 58 and the Dragon.
On weekends it is probably a different story. There was an abundance of
bikers there but not too many Grandpa and Grandma types (good). I ran the
Cherohala Skyway twice (both directions) and the Dragon eleven times in-
cluding two times at night. To anyone who has never been there - GO!!

Glad you had a great time! And thanks for the cool report! There's a good group of us going up the first weekend in November.

Thanks for the report! I've been to the area more than 10 times the last 5 years and it is basically the weekends that are heavily patrolled. And it first became a legendary biker resort before the sportscars discovered it. The bikers get along well with the MINI folk. Monday and Tuesday are generally very quiet. Glad you had fun! I'll be there to celebrate my birthday month 10/18 - 10/21, as I have done the past 4 years, with a few friends.
