[Sat, Oct 6, 9:30am] MINIs HIT THE HILLS II
Please join us for a fall drive in the hills of Western MD, PA, and WV.
When: Saturday, October 6, 2007 - Departure time is 10:30am.
Start: Rocky Gap State Park, approx. 8 miles east of Cumberland. Take entrance to park from I-68, then into the first parking lot ON THE LEFT.
Route: We will start with a one-hour drive, including a quick run up Gilpin Road at Polish Mountain, site of this year's SCCA-sanctioned hillclimb, then on the backroads of Pennsylvania, north of Cumberland. Returning to Rocky Gap, we will take some photos at the lake, then eat lunch at the Lakeside Restaurant.
Following lunch, we will drive into Cumberland and on into West Virginia for a one-hour drive that includes over 15 miles of winding roads, ending with a drive up the Allegheny Front (think mini-Dragon !).
Following a short break on top, we'll decend the mountain and take a different set of roads back to Cumberland, with a stop for ice cream.
Bring: Full tank of gas, camera, radio (set to 7/21), and cash for lunch.
Event Fee: No fee for DCMM members. $5.00 per car for non-members. Pay at the event.
A PDF file with route details is attached.
Please RSVP on the calendar AND send a private message to CooperCops stating how many people will be in your car.

Just curious - this run is different than the "Almost Heaven" run, right? I've done the Hit the Hills before, but not Almost Heaven... wish I'd been able to make it to that last month.
this sounds good....

Darn. Worse than a wedding conflict even! This conflicts with the most important religous holiday of the year! The Annapolis Sail Boat Show.
Thought I might make this one but, religous days of obligation must be met.

Oh wow, this isn't too far from me! *ponderponder* I have lunch plans that day but let me see if I can change them. What's the drop dead RSVP date?
