clear bra and driving lamps

Greetings,
I am anxiously awaiting delivery of my R56--it should be here in a few weeks. Can anyone recommend a local shop that can do the clear bra for less than the $1,000.00 Sterling Mini charges? Also, I'd like to have driving lamps added at a price less than the dealer (around 600.00).
Thanks in advance!
Melissa

Melissa,
Good luck with this. Most places around here charge about the same. Frontguard in Annapolis will do it for $995 and ProForm in Ellicott City wanted over $1,300. If you can find anyone cheaper, go for it.

You can get it installed by Proform of Ellicott City cheaper than $1300. I know... I did. And not that long ago. Not sure why you got such a high quote. Were you going more than 18 inches up the bonnet ?

And, oh yeah, you can find the OEM driving lights for $320 at some dealerships. And maybe even cheaper if you can find them on Ebay.

But, unless you can install them yourself, the $600 is actually a good price. To have MINI install them will run you about $400.

Ya I'm afraid if you've ever looked at the install instructions for the lights, the wiring is all over the place. They even hook into the plug on the radio.
This is on the R50/53, but the general rule on this stuff is to get more complicated rather then easier. There were several venders that had aftermarket light kits that were cheaper and had more straight forward wiring. Not sure for the R56.

There are others, but after checking around I'm sure you'll find that the dealer installed price really isn't all that bad.

Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback. It looks like I will be having the dealer take care of these two things.
