Wow! I'm impressed Nice shirt, window sticky, intro cards, and even a name tag. You folks think of everything! Now, if only AIDA (the ship carrying Dr. P) can move a bit faster I'll be able to sleep again It's really hard to wait patiently for this new toy. Does anyone have an idea how long it usually takes for a MINI to get from the port of Baltimore to Tate? Hey Wolf- Thanks for the image I really enjoyed your ride's name, OMB, Took a moment to get it but, after that, very clever. I asked my MA today for his take on the timing of Dr. P's pending arrival. I had expected our cars to offload in Baltimore, but he said they would roll off in Jersey City (I guess that's where Aida is docking in the New York area) and it's just a couple of days after that. If it's true, it will save about 4 days of ocean voyaging down the east coast to Norfolk, up the Chesapeake, and then into a holding pattern waiting for a berth in Balt. So maybe we're about to get lucky!

I'll believe it when I take delivery. Anyway, we're getting closer. Where'd you order OMB?

Who's your MA? I just picked mine up last Friday from Tate. My MA was Scott. He's awesome. Maybe I'll see you in Laurel. I'll be there on Saturday.

 

My MA is Mark. Nice enough guy, but relatively new to the business.

Otto was ordered through Towson. Evan is my MA.
When I first saw the ship's schedule, I thought that it would have made more sense for our little bundles of joy to be unloaded in Dundalk too but then I learned that the VDC is in Jersey.
I'm guessing that they should show up in about a week and a half. Kinda sucks because I'm on vacation next week and I could have done a lot of break-in driving.

By an chance, RU picking your MINI up at Towson tomorrow morning? (Sat 9/21) I am scheduled to pick up mine at 11 and was told there was another delivery before mine!

 

so when is this install party, my girlfriend wants to get a roof decal???

I wish I could answer that question for you. As of right now, no one can tell me where my MINI is.
I stopped into MoT Monday to visit my MA,Evan. I was greeted by another MA,Hillary,who informed me that Evan was still on vacation and wouldn't return until Thursday.I asked her if there was anyway that she could find the ETA of my car,Otto. She said that she would try but there was a surge that morning and the computers may still be down. Well, she tried and they were still down as expected, so she took my info and told me she would contact me after the problem was fixed. Afew hours later, Hillary called and told me that it looked as though Otto should be arrivng the next day, Tuesday.
Expecting Evan back on Thursday and Otto to have been inspected by then and ready for pickup, I took vacation for Thurs., Fri. and Sat. which would give me plenty of time to get some break-in miles on the car and afford me the chance to go down to The Awakening on Sat.
Thursday, the big day, I call up Evan to schedule a time to get Otto. As soon as Evan answered the phone he asked me if I got his email. After I said I didn't see it ,he said that he left me a message saying that my car should be in anyday. Taken aback, I told him that I was informed that it should have been there on Tuesday. He checked and said that no new cars had arrived.He then looked on the computer and told me that the only info that they had was that Otto arrived in NY and it had gone to the VDC. Since we can't get any more information ,I don't know if it was damaged or failed inspection for some reason or what.
So as you can see, I really don't know if I'm getting it Saturday or not.

OOPS..Didn't notice I was in a DCMM thread earlier...Quietly moves to door, slips out and closes door...

 

Speaking from experience.. it comes into Port of NYC, then trucked down to Tate. Pretty much once they release from VDC it'll be there at Tate same day unless it's a Saturday/Sunday.

If you're stlll awaiting your car and want to attend an event, post on the event you want to attend and I'm sure one of the members will be happy to "host" you in their MINI.

 

But we LOVE peeping toms! :-)

I bought my Mini S from Evan at Towson as well... he's one heck of a guy. Ended up e-mailing Miniusa in order to tell them about the great time I had buying from him at MoT.
