Body Shop

Does anyone have a preferred vendor for paint work? I'm ready to put the MINI in the shop to fix the scratches from the tire exchange.

Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure how deep is the scratch, from what I see, you can use cleaner wax and buff them off.

Just my 2 cents.

As stated, I had a great personal experience with Royal Auto Body in Sterling--the shop that's affiliated with MoS. That said, this was fairly major work. I tend to agree with Maxicooper. It looks like you might be able to take care of this on your own.

Thanks so much for the info guys! Buffing out the scratches has been attempted twice... I have a couple of other dings that need to be touched up as well. I'll give them a shout and take it in for an estimate.

When I got my stripes put on, I asked about any paint places, and was recommended this place. They supposedly have okay prices and do work on MINIs.

I highly recommend Ashburn Collision also. When we lived back there - got rear ended - $3K damage - she was good as new when we got her back

Thanks! I am going to Royal tomorrow morning for an estimate. Plan to have her at the shop while I am at MITM.

I will call Ashburn too.

You potentially have two options.

1.) Wetsand and buff the scratches. If that fails you can then go to option #2. Not sure who attempted the repair previously or what methods they used, but based on the pix, you might be able to minimize the damage without resorting to repainting.

2.) Repaint that entire quarter panel. Touch up won't work on this metallic, and so the whole area needs to be resprayed, sanded, and buffed.
