Calendar looking sparse!

Ok, so the summer is up and running. Now we need to look at the fall. I only have ONE!!!! yes 1 run in August!!! It will be a good one I promise, I am working on the details now... something like Back Roads and Battlefields.

But looking at September/October/November...It is looking grim! We need some more runs/events people!!

Are we doing a haunted house in October again? The one that was discussed last year, that is held in the old jail or something?

We were considering hooking up with some PA peeps and going there. Thanks for reminding me, haven't thought more about it. Guess we need to get going with that..

Eastern State Penn!! THAT will scare the CRAPOLA outta me!! But I think it will have to be an overnight thing, since I want to go there in the DARK!!!

I want to go go-karting again. But I don't know how to set that up. It gets expensive pretty quick.

OT: Are you going to join the Autocrossing on 7/22. I think they open for DCMM members now. It's a good chance to test your Mini's set up.

Another idea, re-run MHTH? That was a nice run for the foliage change over, very nice colors, very nice roads. Maybe do the un-edited route, before the stop to Flight97, unless people want to go again.

Yep, we'd like to host MHTH II on Sat Oct 6 2007. The leaves should be just about right up here by then. Hopefully, we can have a little sunshine this year.

If we do the run on the 6th, that would still leave time later in Oct for another autumn run (maybe southern MD or VA).

What about your WVa run? Is there a time we can do that one?

I'm just about finished with the "Battle of Gettysburg" tour... I should have this tour ready to run in August... I ran the route again yesterday and need to make some changes... The route to Gettysburg follows the advance of the Union Army... Lunch in Gettysburg then the route home follows route the of the Confederate Retreat... Let me know if there's interest for August...

^ Cool. My hometown, born and raised. Let me know if you need any assistance picking places to go in Gettysburg.

I could even give a tour similar to one you get from the NPS... only not as long because theirs run about 4 hours, I believe. I worked in one of the museums there when I was a kid and can still remember most of the events of the 3-day battle.

In the War of Northen Aggression, the Confederate Army never retreated. We were just lookin' for a shady spot to rest!

If anyone is up to it, my wife and I will be in Paris, France in September and we would love to do a drive while in the old country!! Come one, come all!!!

^ Careful, you're tip-toeing on a TOS violation with that political post.

Speaking of political posts, France is my least favorite European country and I've been to 9 of them personally. Don't you prefer Spain, Italy, or Germany ??

It was said tongue in cheek, and not meant to give offense.

As for France, this is our first trip to Europe, when I see Italy, Spain or Germany I'll let you know what I like best!

I knew it was, hence the Winkie.

Good, I'll be looking forward to hearing your reviews. We can compare notes.

Sounds like a great run. Any chance it could be a Saturday event?

There was a British car gathering up that way today. Heard there were about 220 cars, old and new.

I don't have a problem doing a Saturday run as long as everyone understands we will hit more traffic on a Saturday... I tend to take the tours down extremely lightly traveled roads... However, on the history tours we will also go thru the old Civil War towns like Union Bridge, Taneytown, Emmittsburg and others... Saturday traffic tends to be a bit heavier than Sunday traffic... I'll leave it up to the group and will plan accordingly...

The morning will be the drive to Gettysburg following the Union Army's advance... We will travel part of the park and continue on to lunch at a VERY special venue... Then the afternoon run back follows the Confederate Army's Retreat route and we will end at a nice place in Frederick for all to get ice cream or a snack...

Post your responses as to whether you want a Saturday or Sunday tour...

I'll be running the route with my faithful spirited group of Beta Testers soon... We always have a blast testing these routes... We just tested the "Watershed Tour" route last Sunday... We had 8 Porsches, 1 BMW and a MINI (not mine) and everyone survived... If you are interested in being part of that group, drop me a PM...

Saturday.... Sunday.... driving in and around Gettysburg in August, it doesn't really matter. Expect lots of traffic and slowwwwwwwwwww drivers anytime between May and September. Oh well... speed limits within the battlefield grounds are 15-25 mph anyway.

Saturday would be preferable to me, except Saturday, 8/25, is out.

If we do the run to Gettysburg, why don't we push it to September. CooperCops is going to do a WVa run in late august. How does your schedule look in sept?
