Clutchy clutchy and dealer choice
I did speak with Service Advisor Mike Creason (not Mike Arata) about the official loaner policy for those who did not buy the car at MoS.
They do give loaner cars to non-customers, but only for 1 day. Unfortunately, there is very little onus on them to guarantee completion of a job within the 24 hours, and so after that, the customer would be reponsible for paying for the loaner.
My thoughts - it would be prudent to have plenty of communication with the SA beforehand to ensure that:
- They are not "backlogged" at the time you dropped off your non-MoS-sold MINI.
- The job you are asking them to do can most certainly be done within the 1 day period.
One of the things that makes it easier is that they have a night shift for service on Monday through Thursday nights. That means those four days are the best time to drop off your MINI, as there are two complete shifts to handle your car before the 24 hours are up!
Anyway, just to be clear - MoS will give you a loaner (not necessarily a MINI), but under a strict time limit.
