L.S.D. & G-Stock

As usual, I am having trouble understanding the rules. Can I retrofit my '02 MCS 6 spd with a limited slip differential and still run Solo II / G-Stock?

And only the original OEM limited slip. Installing a Quaife, for example, is not Stock legal.

On the other hand, it works wonders for a MCS with an open diff if you're willing to move to STX, SM, or DSP.

The best option for G-stock class MCS is to order it that way for 2005 and 2006 models.

If yours didn't come with LSD from the factory it costs quite a bit for the MINI LSD part and more for the labor to install it (depends on where you can get it installed- roughly $800 to $1500).

If you have a 2002-2004 MCS then you can't add any LSD and be in G-stock.

If you have a 2005-2006 MCS without LSD you'd still do pretty good if you'd use 16" stock sized rims (SSR comps are great but costly) and Kumho V710 tires in 215/40-16. The tires will make much more difference than the LSD for most drivers.

Thanks everyone for your replies. A New Mini ls not a option right now. I guess am just going to have to learn to keep my right foot under better control in the turns. JD.
