I'm switching rims from my stock 2014 CMS rims, to another set of Mini rims I found locally.

I wasn't going to do the swap until I get new tires, but if I did decide to swap the tires onto these new oem rims, do I need to buy new TPMS sensors?

sorry, I'm new to this tpms stuff.

The wheels you're going to put on you car don't have tpms? It's just a bare wheel? If you're not planning on using the wheels that are on your car now for a "winter" wheel or anything you can just swap them over to the wheels you want to use.

You don't NEED tire pressure sensors. Just make sure you have a spare tire in the car, and check the pressures at least monthly.

You can reuse them. Checking tires monthly ignores the possibility of a big pressure loss between the check dates. Just happened recently with our CM, no visual way to tell.

The batteries in the TPMS sensors last six to eight years. If your sensors are that old, it would be best to get new ones. The batteries are not replaceable.

Hey Scooter...yes, its a bare rim. I'm just buying newer oem rims to replace my uglier oem rims.

My car is 2.5 years old, so it sounds like I have plenty of life left in my original TPMS sensors. And reading everyone's useful comments, it seems that when I switch the tires over from my old rims to my new rims, I can just move the TPMS sensors over at the same time, right?

Yup, unless for some weird reason they won't fit on the wheel. But you should be fine

Yep, they should work as long as its a factory MINI wheel. The necks on the TPMS you have to check to fit on aftermarket wheels.
