New CM owner, Want/Need rims. Thinking of 19's

I have a 2011 Countryman All4 S in Royal Grey with a Blk roof
Stock suspension (which I plan to leave stock) but I have a SPORT

I was at the wheel guy today and he suggested VMR 710's with a tire size of 225/40/19 and an offset of 35 with Toyo Proxes 4 Plus tires.

My question is, how far will the tires go past the stock fenders? I want them flush, or slightly tucked inside the fender, I don't want them to protrude past the fender. Does anyone have any images, of this same set up? Specifically the fender view? or any advice?

Also, I have a very steep driveway, and right now I have the stock 17" rims, so when I come down the driveway, I have about 1.5" or less clearance, and the top entry, will changing the rims, change my clearance? I need to be able to park in my own driveway.

I had 245/35/19 with 45et which is close to what you will be getting. I'm lowered about 2" lower than sport. You will be fine and won't have any issues with rubbing

If the point of 19" rims is to navigate your driveway I think you are making a mistake. See if you can find a dealer who will let you test some wheels or return them if you don't like the ride quality.

I can't imagine my 11 CM with 19's, the ride is harsh as is with 17".

Worried about offset

Thanks. I'm mostly putting 19" because I like the look. I was most concerned with the offset. I DO NOT want my tires or rims to stick out past the fenders. Flush is good or slightly inside but not outside.

This car looks good. And because it does want say the offset/size or any details. I don't want to spend close to $3000 and make a mistake. I actually think the ride will improve because I'm going away from run flats which will be smoother going over bumps and not so choppy.

Not to hijack your thread but I have the same question. ECS has et35 in the vmr though photos I've seen have led me to believe that et45 is what is in the white cm above

Interesting

The right offset must depends on the width of the wheel as well. I'm going to ask if the shop can put just the rim on my CM so I can see the offset. Because I don't what any outboard (I think it's called that) or side flare out.

Agreed I am hoping others can give some insight into 19x8.5 wheels and what offset sits more flush without poke.

Agreed

Most of the shops (at least where I am, Vancouver BC) only offer the 19x8.5 in a 35 offset, but all the rims need to be special ordered (mostly from California) so they aren't willing to bring them in for me to 'see'. There is one shop that has a similar size rim on display, I'm hoping to convince them to mount it on the car to see - the look I want is easy, it is finding the right fit on the CM. If they will try the mount, I will take photos and post so everyone can see. Maybe my struggles can help others.

I did talk to the guys at discount tire in Bellingham, they have wheels called DRAG Dr-37 (similar look to the VMR), and they are a 38 offset, he originally told me 40 offset would be perfect, but they only make 38, for the CM. Mike (at discount) said is only 2mm, so I might end up going to the United States. He was helpful, and knew what I was talking about. juat as an FYI discounts price for 19" Drag Dr-37 with Yokohama all seasons with the snow rating was all $1630 converted into Canadian that puts me around $2200

I have also read that et40 is perfect so I figured I could get the et45 and always use a 5mm spacer. Would love to see some photos of et35 and et45 in the same car and wheel. One can hope!

Test fit offset 35

just for back from the tire/wheel shop. They test fit 35 offset. It was BAD. They really stuck out. Now I run into the problem of finding a 45 offset in 19" with our bolt pattern. The hunt is on. He said he would want to test fit the 45 before committing to them to make sure of the fit

i wanted the vmr 710, but they don't come in 45 offset - at least not where I live. (Canada)

I talked to a guy at VMR and he said to run et45 and that he has them with the correct specs for a CM. I am going to get a set, I just need to make up my mind about getting a custom powdercoat. Thinking maybe gloss black or possibly RED

Yea in my opinion I think they have too much poke. That's why I ordered a set of et45. I would talk to them directly as they were very helpful to me. I'm in Wisconsin. They are in California.
