I am alittle annoyed about my mileage. I feel that my 06MC should be gettinng better mileage than I am. I know with the CVT it would go down a bit but I expected to be getting better than 29-30 in town. I need to look at getting a new fair filter.

I get about 29-33 in town with spirit on nothing but premium....never have I or will I use anything less and definately not 89 unless thats all thats available. On the highway I get anywhere from 35-43 depending on the distance and speed. Normally I will get about 35-37 on the highway with my normal driving styles. I couldnt really ask for anything better myself.

My wife gets 28-30 mpg consistently around town. She drives 6 miles to work (all city driving) and 6 miles back home. Computer readout at fuel refill is typically 28-30 mpg with an average speed of 25 mph. Haven't had a chance to ring it out on a nice, long road trip.

I had a loaner 2nd Gen MC (I own an S) and it managed 60 mpg highway on a 35 mile stretch of light traffic. I also got around 45 on a trip to Orange County (from San Diego) through mixed traffic mostly freeway.

I don't know why anyone would bother with a stupid Prius, the non-hybrid MC gets better mileage.

You people won't believe this, the first tank of gas with the stock air filter on I got 37.24 mpg, compaired to 32.15 mpg with the K&N Typhoon air intake system. That is 65 highway miles a day I put on the MC at cruise set at 75 mph.WOW that is 5 mpg better, especially with today's high gas prices

04 MC

I've used Sunoco Ultra 94 exclusively since "Austin" was new and I commute 60 mi a day, 4 days a week. If I keep the speed around 60-62mph (trust me, hard to actually do for 30 miles as so many people try to "push" you around) on my daily commute, I can achieve 32 with 450ish miles per tank. If my average speed goes over 65mph-70mph, it lowers my average tank to just a tick around 400 mi. or 28-29mpg. Big difference. As much I love to drive in a spirted manner, keeping my speeds down on my daily commute is just more economical while preserving my clean license!! Long live the R50/R53.

I travel on interstate I-95 and at 60-62 mph, my *** would look like road kill at them speeds,it's bad enough at 75 mph they try to run me over.

I drive mostly on busy semi-freeways (big streets) with a lot of stop lights. I get 20-24 MPG normally, just got K&N typhoon tho, will edit this when I see what I get now.

Problem is it sounds so damn awesome when revving I like to accelerate even more now =P

As long as I keep my foot out of it, I get better highway mileage (about 5)with my K&N 57i and Megan cat-back than OEM.

I just came off a 1700 mile trip in my '06 Cooper with an AFI intake. As an experiment I drove @ 3100 RPMs on average (65-70MPH) for the duration of one tank-full of gas and I made 501 miles on that one tank of 93 octane, which worked out to 38.5 mpg. Otherwise, for the rest of the trip I drove at 4K RPM on average and averaged 35MPG. Traveling 500 miles at 3100RPM was an interesting experiment as I've never had the discipline to so conscientiously stay below the interstate speed limit (listening to an audio book along the trip helped). I concluded that it was easier to drive with the flow of traffic when I drove at 4K RPMs than when I stayed at 3100 RPMs.

Peace Out.
