I heard the Civic Type R will be a Super 2000 car in the WRC no?
I use to think Civics were wack and unorgininal but the new Type R just looks nutts!!!
Who agrees Mini should have at least a Super 1600 car competing in JWRC?
A Mini FIA homologated car... drools...

I own a 2005 MC,chili red with white roof, bonnot stripes and holies. The day I brought it home I installed Kleenwheels brake dust shields, 5 point racing harnesses in the back seat, for my three sons. I have 19k trouble free miles on it and just installed some 205/55r15 Potenza RE750 tires and driving lights. My wife and kids understand that my mini is one of the family. I've owned 20 plus cars in my life and this mini is the best car I have ever owned, I plan to keep it forever!!!

I've had two Coopers, never wanted a whine and a mail slot.
For the price of an MCS, I got an MC with a JCW Tuning Kit.
Other than having less horsepower, the MC has everything else over the MCS:
I'm becoming more and more unique at my club meets where often I am the only Cooper among all the (what I affectionately call) S-Holes™.

- $3,450 cheaper
- 155 pounds lighter
- Chrome is standard

- No mail slot and no spoiler
- Spare tire

Too bad we only get the coupe and sedan, I love hatchbacks. There should be a MINI in the 1600 class, let's bring back the Monte feeling. I know Jim Kenzie is doing his best in the Targa but it would be awesome to see the MINI in WRC racing. What do you think of the new Civic Si sedan coming out?

I have an '05 Cooper since new in April '05 that now has 14k+ miles on it. I ride my bikes most of the time which accounts for the lower than average mileage. However, I love this car more than any other I have owned since 1977, when I started driving. It is the only car that doesn't make me feel disappointed when I can't ride a bike.
Obie is fairly stock. Only a K&N 57i intake, and chrome side marker grills and white markers instead of the ambers. I am waiting on an 'S' roof spoiler in the mail. And I have a set of magnetic white bonnet stripes waiting to go on when I get around to washing and really cleaning up the car (clay bar, etc).
I had driven an 'S' and a Cooper before buying my Cooper. Yes, the extra performance of the 'S' was nice, but I didn't like the scoop (it ruined the whole look of the car, imho), the fact that I would have to pay more money to get the chrome grill back, the lower gas mileage, and the fact that it was about $2k more expensive.
Yes, I do like the chrome side grills of the 'S' (mine are not 'S' grills, just chromed Cooper ones), and the larger 'S" wing, but there are no 'S' insiginias on my car, which is important to me.
I can't imagine ever selling this car. I, too, still do the 'look over the shoulder' thing after I've gotten out of the car and walked away, and I still smile every time.

I own an 06 MCC w/CVT and I love it! 22,000 trouble free miles to date. As a daily driver the CVT is perfect for the San Jose commute, and the manual mode 6 speed is great for canyon carving on the weekends. The only mods i have are some very sexy red/black Wet Okole seat covers and the M7 USS hardware to stiffen the body. I recommend the USS to all Cabrio drivers. It makes it a much better handling car. I also replaced the skinny 175/65 tires with 205/55 Yokohamas V4s . Fabulous handling vehicle.
