oil catch can

Can we (having non-s's and therefore no intercooler) gain anything from a oil catch can? If you're looking at the engine there appear to be two "places" where the engine is breathing? Is the engine expelling or inhaling oil/air through these holes?

I would assume they expell except for the fact that certain pictures of people using the HAI (hot air intake) show them having placed a "mini k&n filter" over the hole on the right side of the engine?

Or are the regular and s engine designed differently in regards to all of this?

That's the breather filter... venting stuff from the crankcase.

The catch can is meant to remove oil from the intercooler... We don't have to worry about that...

"Supercharged engines are prone to accumulation of an oil sludge mixture forming inside the intake tract. This is a result of crankcase pressure and inefficient combustion. While this condition is normal it is a hindrance to making higher horsepower and increasing engine longevity."

The Alta can has a drain plug in it. You remove the car and on the bottom is a metal drain plug.

I wish you could see what came out of my M7 Oil Catch Can yesterday The two friends that did the cleaning for me both are getting one now! I should have had it done months ago as it was Full of Gook!!!

Find a friend that has an Oil Catch Can and watch it being taken off and dumped out and cleaned and you will order one.

Trust me, my name is

Earl
