Air Intake for MC with S Hood !

Hello there,

I have been doing some research about Air Intakes, and the two most common Intakes i noticed are: K&N Typhoon and Pipercross Viper.

I have swapped my Cooper bonnet to a Cooper S because I am trying to use the air vent for more Air flow.

Which of the above two air intakes will give me better performance when connected to the Air Vent ?

Where do you recommend I should duct the Air to ? Do I need to filter the duct before it enters the Air Intake ?

I have a plan to where to pipe the extra air source, shown below in the attached picture.

Your ideas and information are needed.

well, the air isnt going to help anything when its slammig right into the side of the intake wall, its just going to come to a dead stop.

i would suggest bending up something that starts ar the intake, runs thru the filter and into the throttle body.

you dont have much room above the motor to mount anything, so i could see a "naca" duct of sorts under the hood that seals to the scoop and run a pipe off the side of that into your filter assembly.

but, from where your at now, you will A, get no airflow, and B, be sucking in any contaminants that your scoop catches.

your best bet is to have an intake made, instead of trying to make something thats already built, fit.
