OK, I got it this morning. Installed it at lunchtime!

First impressions:

1. Nice kit
2. Complete parts
3. Excellent Instructions, although they really aren't needed.
4. The sound is awesome. I have heard other intakes on earlier cars, Moss, Typhoon etc., This kit sounds deeper and throatier.

I took it around the block, after install. So I don't have any real info. I am sure there is no more or less noticible power, but the placebo effect is nice!

I will post sound clips, later.

Too bad you didn't have a pre install dyno pull and graphs before installing. Then the 200 miles for the ECU to adapt to additional air flow. Followed by a post install dyno pull with graphs to show improvements.

So what is your opinion? Is it worth it. Can't wait for the sound clips.

Yeah if I had access to a Dyno I would have. However, I am not willing to spend the $$$ to test for what would be a very minimal gain, if any at all. When I am all done with all my mods, I will dyno.

I don't really care about before and after, when after ia all I really need to know. If when all said and done I pull 130-140+ at the wheels, I will be satisfied.

Based on the ease of install, quality of the kit, and sound quality, I beleive, yes it was well worth it.

Price increase must have just happened, I have that page bookmarked and it has been ~$149 for a while. I guess now that they have them in stock, they're worth more.

Maybe this is a stupid question, but in all of the posts related to this topic, I’ve never seen any references made to voiding the MINI warranty by installing the K&N (or any other brand) aftermarket intake. What’s MINI’s take on this topic?
