Wheel size??

i just got a 2015 Mini Cooper 2door and being as though I know nothing about cars had a question. So from everything I read everyone running 7.5 width wheels, the ones I found are 17x8.5. Do I need to worry about them rubbing or anything because of the width?

OEM 17" wheels are 7" wide.

You also need to consider wheel offset and tire size.
