$300 exhaust for Cooper S on EBay??

Does any one have information on this cat-back offered on EBay?

The price is incredible. Is the quality disappointing? Does anyone have any idea how it sounds?

Thanks...jdwf6

Looks exactly like a stock mcs exhaust, except it has a little bit of shine to it. I wouldnt get it.

While the price is good and it "Looks like stainless steel" I would worry that in fact it is not "highly polished" stainless steel.

I'd be concerned over fitment issues.
The design is pretty standard generic dual MCS exhaust. The mufflers are especially large and generic.
You don't know anything about any power gains- expect about 1-4 HP at least
You don't know anything about loudness- there is nothing to compare it to- might be really loud or quiet.
You don't know much about weight- I'd guess about 34 to 36 pounds or more compared to 44 pounds for stock.

And the design is not the same as stock which looks more like the exhaust on the left in this picture-

For ebay stuff you are looking at an unknown product and no telling what the terms of warranty are. Borla has a great warranty and has been in business for a long long time.

$300 Ebay exhaust

Thanks for your advice....I'm inclined to take it.

I got a message back from the seller who said the exhaust is made by "N1 Performance and Engineering." I couldn't find them on the Internet (though I did find something called Apexi N1--the same?) which adds to your concerns over the quality of the system.

Thanks,
jdwf6

You might want to do a search because i think this same exhuast was posted a few weeks ago and someone was thinking about buying it and testing it. For half of what the other overpriced exhausts cost its definitely worth a try.

I just emailed someone who bought one of these a while back to see if he is still satisfied with the product,I'll post the reply,if and when I get it.I think it looks pretty good, myself.I do worry that it would be loud and prone to the dreaded drone, which would kill it right there for me.

Quick search for "Ebay" got me this:

I don't know if the mods will want to close this thread and merge it into the other......

So for N-1 looks like a good company and if i had the money i might just try out this exhuast.
